Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which radically changed the understanding of social assistance in the capital and put an end to the era of door-to-door coal distribution, has now prepared the 'Mid Winter Support Package' for families receiving social assistance. Giving the good news that they will provide natural gas support to families in need who do not use coal, ABB President Mansur Yavaş said, “We are starting our 600 million TL Winter Winter Support Package, and we are warming up with solidarity in the cold of Ankara. In the capital, no one will go to bed hungry, no child will be left without reading. We will overcome the tough days together and reach the sunny days together.”
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which has implemented practices that radically changed the understanding of social assistance in the capital, continues to diversify its support packages for families in need.
Stating that they will now provide natural gas support to families in need who do not use coal after the coal aid made through Başkent Kart, ABB President Mansur Yavaş announced the 'Mid Winter Support Package' in his post on his social media accounts.
Giving the good news to citizens in need, Yavaş said, “In our new support package, we will provide natural gas support to our families in need who do not use coal. In December, we are about to complete our work to deposit 220 lira of support to the Başkent Card of our 500 thousand families.”
600 MILLION TL SUPPORT PACKAGE
In the context of social municipality understanding, Yavaş said that 'what one hand gives the other will not see' in the Capital, with the announcement he made on his social media accounts, "We are launching our 600 million TL BLACK WINTER SUPPORT PACKAGE, we are warming up with solidarity in the cold of Ankara. In the capital, no one will go to bed hungry, no child will be left without reading. We will overcome the tough days together and reach the sunny days together.”
Slow addressed the families receiving social assistance with the following words:
“To date, we have become 6 Million One Hearts with you. No one asked, 'Do I have anyone in this city?' We did not leave the question unanswered. Together, we made the Capital of our Republic the capital of goodness. We know that many of our compatriots are experiencing various difficulties due to the drought on the one hand, the pandemic process on the one hand, and the economic conditions on the other. To overcome this problem, we are opening a new page and announcing our black winter support package. In our new support package, we will provide natural gas support to families in need who do not use coal. While we allocate a budget of 400 million liras to this support depending on the application status, we are also about to complete our work to deposit a total of 220 million liras of support amounting to 500 liras to the Başkent Card of our 110 thousand families in December.”
NEW GLORY FROM YAVAŞ TO STUDENTS AND CAPITAL CARDS
Apart from all these, Yavaş also gave good news to the children of families receiving social assistance for the next education period, and announced that they will make new regulations on food aid from the new year:
“Besides all this, we are continuing our preparations so that each of our families receiving social assistance can buy a daily bread and a kilogram of meat per month with the Capital Card, starting from the New Year's Day. In the next education period, we will start to pay the service fees of around 20 thousand of our children. We will get through the tough months together and reach the sunny days together with our support package that we have prepared so that none of our children go to bed hungry and no one will be left hungry and exposed.”
While the Metropolitan Municipality has paid approximately 140 million TL to Başkent Cards given to families receiving social assistance, it also provided approximately 164 million TL of educational support to 910 thousand 25 students before the schools opened in the past months.
A balance of 28 million 609 thousand 61 TL was also defined for the purchase of coal for the Başkent Cards of 509 thousand 350 families who received social assistance.
