Istanbul will celebrate 'October 6, Istanbul's Liberation Day from Enemy Occupation, with events organized by IMM. Visual shows will be watched together, the same songs will be sung at concerts, and marches will be accompanied by one voice. City line ferries and sea taxis will also perform a surprise show during the celebrations. Announcing that public transportation vehicles are free due to the liberation of Istanbul from the occupation, İBB President Ekrem İmamoğluinvited all Istanbulites to the events in Gulhane Park.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has prepared events that will make the whole city feel the enthusiasm and pride of Istanbul's 98th year of liberation. The enthusiasm of October 6, the day when Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words "They Go As They Come" become reality, will spread in waves to many parts of the city, starting with the official ceremony to be held at the Taksim Republic Monument. The most unforgettable moments of the activities that will continue throughout the day will be experienced in Gülhane Park and the Bosphorus, where Istanbul residents are invited. City line ferries and sea taxis will perform a surprise show during the celebrations. The İBB Band will give a concert at the Karaköy pier, and Ceylan Ertem will perform at the Gülhane Park.
OFFICIAL CEREMONY IN TAKSİM
The occupation days, which ended with the Turkish Army's entry into Istanbul on October 6, 1923, will be celebrated in a festive mood. The celebration program will start at 10.00:XNUMX in the morning with the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Taksim Republic Monument. IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluwill sign the Memorial Book of Honor at the ceremony. He will read what he wrote in the diary to the attendees of the ceremony. İBB Mehter Team will also give a short concert in memory of the day.
THERE IS A FESTIVAL IN GULHANE
The address of the celebrations this year will be Gülhane Park. IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluCelebrations will be held in a festive atmosphere. Puppet-meddah shows will be held for children from 15.00. Those who attend the celebrations will have fun with games, workshops and concerts. Famous Writer Sunay Akın will also take the stage at the celebrations.
THE PATH TO VICTORY EXHIBITION
A special exhibition for the liberation day will be shown to the visitors on the walking path in Gülhane Park. October 6, Istanbul Victory Road Exhibition will remind once again the days of occupation and liberation. At 17.00, the Turkish Retired Officers Association will hold a ceremony in Sarayburnu.
IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluwill enter Gülhane Park by Sarayburnu at 19.15 and visit the photography exhibition. Then, he will visit the children's playgrounds and appeal to Istanbulites in the event area. Celebrations will continue with Ceylan Ertem concert.
A SURPRISE CELEBRATION IN THE BOSPHORUS
Eminönü and Karaköy piers will be the scene of a surprise celebration at 18.00. 4 city lines ferry and 8 sea taxis will offer a visual feast in sync. This special celebration, where light and balloon shows will take place, can be watched from different points of Istanbul.
