The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's (IMM) request for a further 207 million 800 thousand euros for the metro project and tram vehicle purchases came to the agenda of the municipal council.
In the IMM Assembly session chaired by Zeynel Abidin School, the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, at Yenikapı Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Center, off-the-topic speeches and 114 agenda proposals were discussed.
A loan request of 207 million 800 thousand euros in total for the purchase of the metro project and tram vehicles of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was submitted to the parliament by the municipality. Among the off-the-topic speeches made at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly session, chaired by Zeynel Abidin, the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, at Yenikapı Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Center, 114 proposals on the agenda were discussed today. According to the proposal of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Finance Directorate, the foreign borrowing request with 150 million Euros plus VAT to be used in the projects to be made between the Kaynarca-Pendik-Tuzla Metro Line and the Sabiha Gökçen Airport rail system connection was presented to the parliamentary agenda. In addition to these, in the proposal of the Finance Directorate, 34 million 57 thousand Euros plus non-VAT borrowing request was submitted to the parliament for the purchase of 800 tram vehicles, and a total borrowing request of 207,8 million Euros was sent to the commissions for discussion.
Particularly, in order to examine the maintenance and repair tenders to be made to the vehicles due to the public buses that have deteriorated recently, the IETT vehicle purchase and maintenance works examination and the establishment of the research commission, which was held in September, with the land passed by the Parliament, which was also accepted in the parliament last time, went to the national garden. It was announced that the zoning plan was returned to the parliamentary agenda to be discussed again by Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In addition to these, the article on the establishment of a new unit called the Precautionary and Inspection Fire Department, which was rejected at the parliamentary meeting held in September, was also among the items returned to the parliament for re-negotiation by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
