Hyundai Motorsports Team has announced its drivers who will sweat in the 2022 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) season. Belgian Thierry Neuville and Estonian Ott Tänak will be the team's ace pilots in the 2022 season, while Spanish Dani Sordo and Swedish Oliver Solberg will take part in certain rallies alternately.
Sordo has been part of the Hyundai Motorsport team since 2014 and has played an important role for Hyundai, influencing the results in the most memorable rallies. The Spanish driver took the podium at the Rallye Deutschland in the first year of the competition and continued to show a steady performance every season, bringing points to the team. Sordo, who has been on the podium for 13 times in the Hyundai Motorsport team, will be accompanied by a young talent next year.
Swedish Oliver Solberg joined the team at the end of the 2020 season and attracted attention as a promising 20-year-old driver. The Swedish young talent participated in nine rallies with Hyundai Motorsport in 2021 and got behind the wheel of three different cars: Hyundai i20 R5, Hyundai i20 N Rally2, Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Solberg, who attracted the attention of team bosses with his outstanding efforts and impressive performances, will share his third Rally2022 (WRC) car with Sordo in certain rallies in 1.
Hyundai Motorsports Team has been participating in the FIA WRC since 2014 and continues to contribute to the development of both this special sport and road version cars as well as racing vehicles.
