The winners of the Global Climate Change Photo Contest organized by Alarko Carrier, the pioneer of the air conditioning industry, have been announced. With the applications made to the competition, the striking impact of climate change and the destruction it caused were revealed.
The winners of the Global Climate Change Photography Contest, organized for the eighth time this year by Alarko Carrier, who want to draw attention to the impact of climate change, which stands out as one of the biggest problems of our time, on our world and the environment we live in, have been announced. Nearly 2021 photographic works participated in the competition, where applications were made with the hashtag #Küreseliklim1000 on Instagram and Twitter.
As the first step in the applications, the 50 photographs that received the most votes in the public vote were selected, and then these photographs were evaluated by the selection committee and the most successful 12 photographs were determined. In the selection committee; Journalist and Photographer Adem Meleke, Documentary and Photojournalist Coşkun Aral, Photographer Dilan Bozyel, Milliyet Newspaper Photo Editor and Photojournalist Ercan Arslan and Photographer Mehmet Turgut, while the Tema Foundation General Manager Başak Yalvaç Özçağdaş, Alarko Carrier Chairman of the Board Niv Garih and Advertising Serdesin Agency President Serhat Bayram also took part. As a result of the evaluation of the selection committee, the first 12 photographs that were ranked were entitled to receive special awards from Alarko Carrier.
Ömer Faruk Güler, who ranked first as a result of the selection committee evaluation, was entitled to receive the Toshiba HAORI 13.000 BTU/h Air Conditioner award. The second Mehtap Akbaş Çiftci iPhone 12 Mobile Phone and the third Fazilet Ecemiş Yılmaz received the Canon EOS M50 Mark II BK Camera Vlogger Kit award. Fourth Alev Ünal, fifth Şevki Karaca and sixth Mehmet Bedir won the Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 Bundle Box awards. Seventh Serhat Yılmazer, eighth Ramazan Çırakoğlu, ninth Deniz Nida Şener, tenth Tahir Yang, eleventh Dilek Aşkın and twelfth Münevver Ulusoy won Decathlon 500 TL Gift Certificates. In addition, National Geographic 12-Month Magazine Subscription will be given to all winners who are ranked in the top 12.
