Katmerciler exported tactical wheeled armored vehicle HIZIR and 4×4 Armored Ambulance to Uruguay. Katmerciler, one of the dynamic companies of the Turkish defense industry, achieved another success in the export of armored vehicles. The Uruguayan army purchased armored vehicles from Katmerciler in line with the needs of its personnel in the UN Ceasefire Observation Force (UNDOF). Uruguay procured Hızır 4×4 TTZA and 4×4 Armored Ambulance from Katmerciler to serve in the Uruguay Mechanized Infantry Unit, which is under UNDOF mission.

UNDOF is the UN Peacekeeping Force deployed in the region to monitor the Withdrawal of Forces Agreement between Israel and Syria, which is officially at war. As of August 10, 2020, 1100+ personnel are working in the mission. Among the countries contributing to the mission is Uruguay. to the mission; Bhutan, the Czech Republic, Fiji, Ghana, India, Ireland, Nepal, the Netherlands and Uruguay are contributing security forces. The Philippines, Austria, Japan and Croatia had withdrawn the troops they sent to UNDOF due to the intensification of the conflict in Syria.

Israel occupied the Golan Heights in 1967 during the Six-Day War, and after the Yom Kippur War between Israel and Syria in 1973, Syria recaptured 5 percent of these heights. UNDOF created a buffer zone between the two countries in 1974. The UNDOF mission continues until today, since neither the return of the Golan Heights nor the solution of the problems between Israel and Syria have been achieved.

Katmerciler Continues to Export

Katmerciler signed a $91,4 million contract with the Kenyan Ministry of Defense for a comprehensive package consisting of the tactical wheeled armored vehicle HIZIR and its derivatives. The total amount of the package agreement, which consists of 118 vehicles of HIZIR and its derivatives, as well as spare parts and maintenance, is 91 million 415 thousand 182 dollars. Delivery of the vehicles will start in 2022 and will be completed in 2023. The agreement is Katmerciler's highest export agreement in a single item.

Katmerciler had announced the export of a 40 million Euro defense vehicle package, which was made to another African country earlier this year. These successive export moves make a significant contribution to the recognition of the Katmerciler brand and the recognition of HIZIR in the international arena.
