Sudan's Ambassador to Turkey Adil İbrahim Mustafa and Sudan Railways Organization (SRC) General Manager Waleed Mahmoud visited the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) General Manager Metin Akbaş. During the visit, where mutual views were exchanged, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries to develop cooperation.

Within the framework of the visit, the issues of furthering the good railway relations between Sudan and Turkey, with which we have deep-rooted and friendly relations, and sharing experience and technology, came to the fore.

Ambassador Adil İbrahim Mustafa stated that they happily follow Turkey's developments in the field of railways and the investments made in the railway. SRC General Manager Mahmoud emphasized that although Sudan has the second longest network in the African continent, it needs improvement and new railway construction, and that they wish to benefit from the experience and knowledge of TCDD in this context.

Metin Akbaş, General Manager of TCDD, stated that we, as TCDD, have 165 years of experience in the field of railways and a good technology in this context, and that they are always open to offer our experience and technology to friendly and brotherly countries such as Sudan.

At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Sudan Railways Corporation (SRC) and TCDD to Develop Cooperation in the Railway Sector.
