“The Mimar Sinan Bridge, located on Silivri Stream and a large flooded marsh land, was built in 333 with a length of 32 meters and 1568 bays. The Short Bridge, known as Vakkas Bridge, with a length of 48,5 meters, is estimated to be 6 centuries old. Short Bridge, which remained idle, was revived with restoration, landscaping and lighting works. Much more extensive work was carried out on the Silivri Mimar Sinan Bridge. The non-original bridge paving stones, which were previously made under restoration work, were removed and the concrete layer was removed. Arches that became invisible with stream sands were unearthed. The entire front has been cleared. The bridge end entrances under the ground were exposed and a temporary roof was built for protection. Imitation cement was removed on the façade and legs. Non-original balustrade, flooring, facade stones were refuted and supplemented. In order to strengthen against earthquakes, the gaps between the stone mesh were filled with injection. Rainwater lines have been repaired. In order to provide pedestrian traffic to the bridge entrances, a ramp was built with a detachable staircase with an unbreakable glass landing, and lighting was provided on the facade and walkway.
