There are regular freight trains to Europe from different border gates of China. One of the busiest gates is Erenhot station in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. According to the statement made by Erenhot executives, as of this week, the number of freight trains going from the border to Europe increased by 16 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 2.
There are 53 Sino-Europe freight train routes passing through Erenhot Port, the largest land port on the China-Mongolia border. Routes start from more than 40 cities across China and end at 10 destinations in 60 countries, including Rotterdam and Moscow. Erenhot Railway Station Manager Zhang Peng said, “We have been working on improving the border inspection equipment and facilities at Erenhot Station for some time now. In this way, we started to work much faster and more efficiently, and we were able to increase the number of China-Europe freight trains crossing the border.”
