Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who went to Samsun for a series of visits and openings, visited the Havza-Vezirköprü Road construction site with General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and received information about the works. Karaismailoğlu, who made a press statement here, stated that more than 10 billion liras were invested for Samsun's transportation and communication expenditures.
Noting that they increased the length of the divided road in Samsun from 120 kilometers to 310 kilometers, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they connected Samsun to Ordu, Çorum, Amasya and Sinop with divided roads. Karaismailoğlu said, “Across the province of Samsun; We built 235 kilometers of bituminous hot mix paved roads. We built 2 tunnels, 2 of which are double tube tunnels, with a total length of 235 thousand 22 meters. We have completed 14 bridges with a total length of 193 thousand 113 meters. While 1993 million liras were spent for highways in our province between 2003 and 701, we increased this amount 12 times during the period of our governments. The total project cost of our 10 highway investments in Samsun exceeds 9 billion 147 million liras.
Providing information about the road connecting Havza and Vezirköprü districts, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that a 14,8-meter-long double bridge, 110 at-grade intersections and a different-level intersection are included in the project, which is a total of 2 kilometers long with bituminous hot mixture pavement.
Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows: “Our Havza-Vezirköprü Road is located on the State Road connecting the Western Black Sea Region to Central and Eastern Anatolia. At the same time, Turkey's second largest water canyon, 'Şahinkaya Canyon', is also located on this road route. With the completion of our project, more comfortable, faster and safer travel will be provided on this line. Tourist interest in our canyon will also increase. Expropriation works continue in sections going outside the existing route. We aim to complete our road construction with a project cost of 260 million TL before 2023. Hopefully, we will open it to the service of our esteemed brothers from Havza and Vezirköprü.”
