More than 500 thousand cyber attacks were blocked with domestic and national applications

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is fighting against cyber attacks with completely domestic and national means. Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, announced that they have taken serious measures in cyber security with the applications within the Information Technologies and Communication Authority and 5 thousand 502 cyber attacks have been prevented in about 386 years.

In his written statement, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that more than 2013 corporate Cyber ​​Incidents Response Teams (SOME) have been established in Turkey since 900. Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “In addition, the SOME Communication Platform (SIP) has been developed to share alarm, warning and security notifications between the National Cyber ​​Incidents Response Center (USOM) and SOMEs.”

Pointing out that 1 thousand 60 cyber attacks were prevented this year as of October 795 with the measures taken and domestic and national applications developed, Karaismailoğlu stated that the number of cyber attacks prevented in the period of 2017-1 October 2021 reached 502 thousand 386.

Your attacks; Karaismailoğlu emphasized that it is realized as distributed denial of service (DDoS), phishing (Phishing) and spam by operators, and stated that ensuring national cyber security is the priority agenda of everyone.

Saying that they have taken serious precautions in cyber security, Karaismailoğlu said, "With the Cyber ​​Security Operation Center, whose installation work was completed within the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, it was possible to monitor the work and transactions between USOM and the operators 7/24 without interruption, and to take actions without losing time if necessary."

750 FAKE CONFERENCE APPLICATIONS DETECTED

Underlining that the AVCI, AZAD and KASIRGA projects, which were developed entirely with corporate internal resources, made significant contributions to national cyber security, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“With our domestic and national practices named AVCI, AZAD and KASIRGA during the pandemic process; Using artificial intelligence technologies, 750 fake conference applications and 31 thousand 132 vulnerabilities in remote management services were detected. 19 malware reviews and 133 malware information related to Kovid-612 were shared with SOMEs. 19 thousand 2 malicious droppers (small program that downloads noble malware) and command and control centers related to Kovid-392 were blocked. With the ATMACA project, which works integrated with KASIRGA, the risks of more than 16 vulnerabilities were proactively prevented (testing whether it actually works when a vulnerability is detected) with regular checks for each of the 200 million IP addresses. Domestic and national KULE software has also been developed in order to manage data more efficiently by expert analysts and to deliver the information regarding the detected cyber security deficiencies to the relevant parties more quickly.”
