An evaluation meeting was held for the "Kars City with its Historical Identity Project" financed by the European Union (EU) Pre-Accession Financial Assistance Fund (IPA) and implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

Serhat Development Agency (SERKA) Chairman of the Board, Kars Governor and Deputy Mayor Türker Öksüz attended the meeting held at the agency's central service building in Kars, SERKA Deputy Secretary General Nesim Karakurt, Tourism and Environment Unit President and Project Coordinator Çağrı Birol Esatoğlu, Provincial Culture and Tourism Manager Hayrettin Çetin, Director of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Board Kaptan Elder, representatives of the contractor and consultancy firms. At the meeting, the stage of the 'Kars City with Historical Identity Project', which was implemented within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Operational Program (CISOP) financed by the European Union Pre-Accession Assistance Fund (IPA) and implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and of which SERKA is the beneficiary, was evaluated. At the meeting, Governor Öksüz was briefed about the progress of the construction works of the project, the ongoing and future works. Governor Öksüz, Chairman of the Board of SERKA, stated that he is following the project closely and said that the project, which will provide an important added value to Kars, is eagerly awaited by all Kars residents. Governor Öksüz stated that as the governorship and all institutions in the city, they attach great importance to the project and that all stakeholders in the city will give their best support for the completion of the project. The project is aimed to be completed by the end of 2022.
