IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlumade examinations in the renewed Maçka Democracy Park. Answering the questions of the journalists here, İmamoğlu said to the question about the allegations regarding İSPARK's loss, "I see the effort of the mind, which used these companies very badly in the past, to create such a polemic over one or two companies, as a 'recovery' for them. At least they started to think clearly. We shared with the public how our 27-28 subsidiaries were squandered before. Investigations are opened. There are still openings. Those politicians who were talked about and voicing a harm were the people who were in charge of this business in the past.”
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlu, together with Şişli Mayor Muammer Keskin, inspected the renewed Maçka Democracy Park. İmamoğlu, who received information about the works from İBB Parks, Gardens and Green Areas Department Head Prof. Dr. Yasin Çağatay Seçkin, chatted with the citizens and had a coffee break at the new concept BELTUR in the park. İmamoğlu, who offered the cookies he bought to the citizens, also made his evaluations about the inspection tour in the park. Stating that Maçka Democracy Park is an area where Istanbulites have collected beautiful memories, İmamoğlu said, “But unfortunately, it was a park with unusable spots and bad sections. We had determined this during our field trips with our Şişli Mayor.”
“PARK HAS A STRUCTURE WITH IDENTITY”
Emphasizing that the park has gained an identity structure with the cooperation of İBB and its subsidiaries, İmamoğlu said, “But of course, this does not end here. We will continue to touch other parks in the near region like this one. Maçka Park is one of our important parks in the heart of Istanbul. We are also working on creating beautiful axes that will meet Taksim Square, Atatürk Cultural Center and Istiklal Street by passing through these parks with the flow of that region, such as Nişantaşı and Osmanbey, which are one of the most vibrant spots in Istanbul. May this new version of Maçka Park be beneficial to our Istanbul. Friends also invite the people of Istanbul with a nice and inviting definition by saying 'Let's meet in Maçka'”.
KESKIN: “WE ARE TRYING TO GROW THE AREAS AGAIN”
Noting that Şişli is a very unlucky district in terms of green areas, Keskin said, “This place also serves our guests coming to Istanbul and even from outside of Istanbul. So it needed renovation. Our fix was that. We made it happen. Thank you so much. It is worth saying a few more things. We are opening Mecidiyeköy Square soon. Again, with the contributions of Mr. President and his team. Improvisation. The area up to the square will also be arranged. I wish good luck to Sisli, Istanbul and Turkey. We are trying to regenerate beautiful areas. I also ask our neighbors who use this place to use it better and take care. Because this is ours,” he said.
ANSWER TO 'ISPARK' QUESTIONS FROM İMAMOĞLU
After the speeches, İmamoğlu answered journalists' questions about the agenda. The questions of journalists and İmamoğlu's answers to the questions were as follows:
There is a claim that ISPARK General Manager Murat Çakır has been dismissed. In another claim, he resigned and is said to have moved to the private sector. Can we learn the status of the General Manager of İSPARK?
“At the moment, we do not have a clear situation to share with the public. If it becomes clear, we'll share it already. So nothing special. There are many managers who want to work with us. We have managers who come with us and put forth their efforts. Some may get tired, some want change, some we can change. All of these are possible. It is possible in normal life, professional life, corporate life. But at the moment, we do not have a clear point to share with the public.”
It is noteworthy that this issue has come to the fore at a time when there are discussions about the loss of the company.
“It may come, it may happen, it may coincide, but we have shared with the public that the issue about the loss of the company is not true. I see the effort of the mind, which used these companies so badly in the past, to create such a polemic over one or two companies, as a 'recovery' for them. At least they started to think clearly. They came to themselves. We shared with the public how our 27-28 subsidiaries were squandered before. Investigations are opened. There are still openings. Those politicians who were talked about and who voiced a loss were the people who were in charge of this business in the past. It is a malicious process carried out on only one piece of land, which is twenty times, fifteen times the number they talk about today, during the period of mismanagement, or even malicious administration, that they obtained from only one land or allowed it to be obtained. In that respect, they bring such issues to the agenda. We now have audited companies. We now have companies that receive both national and international audit services. It's not enough; Istanbul now has a company structure that we have established an internal audit mechanism for. We look very professional. We are looking at the name of the people while doing all this. In this context, I see it as a healthy development and improvement for the opposition members in Istanbul to really raise such an issue.”
