The Russian Ministry of Transport is preparing to raise the tolls of toll highways to a large extent. It is proposed to increase these tariffs by 1,5 times.
If the ministry's proposal is accepted, the highest toll on active toll highways will increase from 3,65 rubles per kilometer to 5 rubles, and on new highways to 8 rubles.
The reason for the hikes is the need to finance new projects and ensure the return of extra-budgetary financing.
The peak toll on toll highways was increased from 2015 to 3 rubles in 3,65.
It is also proposed to increase the highest toll fee to be paid by passenger car owners in bridges, overpasses and tunnels from 84 rubles to 115,5 rubles.
