Participating in the first rail welding ceremony of Başakşehir-Pine and Sakura City Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro Line, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, "We are continuing the construction of 7 separate metro lines in Istanbul intensively."

Stating that they are working hard on the basis of 7/24 service to make urban transportation in Istanbul faster, more economical, more environmentally friendly and more comfortable, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“Istanbul's needs are increasing day by day. It is very important for us to do our part in order to fully prepare Istanbul for the future with the state's mind, farsightedness and a planned approach. May the people of Istanbul rest in peace. We continue to work day and night for the people of Istanbul. The length of the metro line that we have completed in Istanbul and put into the service of our people; It is 80 kilometers. Together with Başakşehir-Çam and Sakura City Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro line, we are continuing the construction of 7 separate metro lines in Istanbul intensively. These are our lines; Pendik-Tavşantepe-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro line, Bakırköy -Bahçelievler-Güngören-Bağcılar Kirazlı Metro line, Beşiktaş Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport Metro line, Küçükçekmece Halkalı- Başakşehir Kayaşehir-Arnavutkoy-Istanbul Airport Metro line, Altunizade-Çamlıca-Ferah Mahallesi-Bosna Boulevard Metro Line, Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Rail System and Pedestrian Oriented New Generation Transportation Project and Başakşehir-Kayaşehir metro line, which we have rail sourced. The total line length of the rail system in Istanbul is 259,5 kilometers, and with the completion of our ongoing projects, we will increase the rail system length of our mega city to 363 kilometers.”
