The unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Chinese university students broke a new world record. The unmanned aerial vehicle named "Feng Ru 3-100", made by Beijing Aeronautical and Astronautical University students, broke a new world record by staying in the air for 80 hours, 46 minutes and 35 seconds without interruption.
During its record flight at an altitude of 21 meters in Xunhang, located in the central Chinese province of Henan, on May 300, the UAV managed to stay in the air for 80 hours, 46 minutes and 35 seconds without any reinforcements, holding the new world record.
Developed by Chinese students, which equaled the 80 hours, 2 minutes and 52 seconds flight record of Boeing's Orion drone, the previous world record holder, the UAV is black in color and has a wingspan of 10 meters. It provides its movement with a gasoline-powered engine and reaches a weight of 60 kilograms with a full tank. It is named after Feng Ru, who is considered the father of Chinese aviation.
The team that developed the record holder UAV consists of 25 students with different levels and expertise. Also, the average age of team members is under 20.
