Chinese Foreign Minister Vang Yi stated that his country has very good relations with Serbia and said that China undertook the continuation of the high-speed rail railway construction in Serbia to the Hungarian border.
Yi was received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic as part of his contacts in the capital Belgrade.
Emphasizing that they have a very good cooperation with China, Vucic said, “Our relations are often described as steely. There is no mistake in that either.” said.
Saying that they have very good relations with Serbia, Yi noted that China undertook the continuation of the high-speed railway construction in Serbia to the Hungarian border.
Noting that Serbian authorities have given permission for the construction of the 108-kilometer railway line, which is the continuation of the Belgrade-Novi Sad route and extends to Serbia's border with Hungary, Yi said that Chinese President Xi Jinping respects "deep friendships".
The Chinese delegation led by Yi later met with Serbian ministers.
