Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank inaugurated the Mud Electricity Production Facility, which was realized with an investment of more than 100 million liras with the build-operate-transfer model. Stating that clean energy is obtained by producing electricity from waste sludge, Varank said, “The presence of gasification and direct combustion technology in the same facility makes this project a first in Turkey. The facility, which will meet the electricity needs of 25 thousand households annually, will contribute 45 million liras to the country's economy.” said.

In his speech at the Tokat Municipality Mud Electricity Production Facility Opening and the Middle Black Sea Development Agency (OKA) Signing Ceremony, Minister Varank said that they are working with the Ministry and related institutions for the development of the city. Stating that Tokat also hosts valuable investments, Varank stated that they follow with interest the investments made in many areas from roads to fairgrounds, from culture and art projects to sports complexes, from urban transformation to parking lots.

GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Varank stated that they were especially pleased with the investments for green and sustainable development, and reminded that the approval of the Paris Climate Agreement and the harmonization with the European Union Green Agreement are studies in this direction.

Underlining that they have officially opened the "Electricity Production from Mud Facility" that will contribute to green development, Varank said, "Thanks to this facility, which was realized with an investment of over 100 million liras with the build-operate-transfer model, clean energy will be obtained by producing electricity from waste sludge. The presence of gasification and direct combustion technology in the same facility makes this project a first in Turkey.” used his statements.

We go out to tender in November and start construction quickly. We are aiming to complete this project, which will include 595 shops, in the near future and bring it to our Tokat.
