Are Metrobus, Metro and IETT Buses Free in Istanbul on October 29?

Public transportation vehicles in Istanbul will provide free service for 29 hours on 24 October Republic Day.

The 29th anniversary of the 98 October Republic Day will be celebrated with various events. In addition, all public transportation vehicles under the responsibility of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and marine engines integrated into Istanbulkart will be free of charge for 24 hours.

IETT Buses, Private Public Buses, Metrobus, Nostalgic Tram and Tunnel vehicles and City Lines Ferries included in the free integration of Istanbulkart throughout Istanbul, private sea public transportation vehicles (except İDO Körfez), Metro operated by METRO ISTANBUL, Light Metro, Tram, Funicular, cable car and Kadıköy Moda Nostalgic Tram vehicles and vehicles connected to OTOBÜS AŞ (excluding Istanbul Airport lines, Marmaray Line will be included if the Ministry's decision is made) will serve free of charge on Friday, 29 October (tomorrow).

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality; It has been implementing this application since 2019 (in line with the decision taken by the IMM Assembly) so that citizens can benefit from public transportation vehicles free of charge on official days and national and religious holidays.
