Mitsubishi Electric, an ambitious player in the field of factory automation and advanced robotics in Turkey, became the main sponsor of the Current Developments in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Symposium (EEMGG`21), organized by the Trabzon Branch of the Chamber of Electrical Engineers of TMMOB. Tolga Bizel, Factory Automation Systems Product Management and Marketing Unit Manager of Mitsubishi Electric, which has increased its digital activities with the pandemic, explained the brand's contribution to the digitalization of production with its advanced technology new generation robots with his presentation on Digital Transformation of Factories and Collaborative Robots.
Meeting with industry stakeholders at the Current Developments in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Symposium organized online by the Trabzon Branch of the Chamber of Electrical Engineers of TMMOB, Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation Systems Product Management and Marketing Unit Manager Tolga Bizel conveyed the company's innovative work in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in factories.
“We are developing new generation products and solutions in the field of advanced robot technologies”
Stating that the use of robots is rapidly spreading and the work done in factories is changing, Tolga Bizel: “Traditional robots that do routine work cannot adapt to changing consumer habits. Our robots supported by artificial intelligence can intervene in the system from beginning to end. Our robots can even give the designer an idea about more effective design. It sees the products with its three-dimensional camera, decides where it can hold the product best with artificial intelligence applications, and can also decide on the success rate and develop comments for different products that it will keep in the next study. Thus, it draws on its previous experience to hold the product with different geometry and shape, and starts working on its own without the need for long adjustment timing. Based on the vision of the future that the role of robots in production will increase rapidly, we, as Mitsubishi Electric, are developing new generation products and solutions in the field of advanced robot technologies. We foresee that working with robots that move in the factory, see the environment with the camera, handle the product at the best capacity, cooperate with humans and most importantly, will not hit the employee, will become widespread in the future, instead of robots that are stationary in the future.
High efficiency with new generation technologies in artificial intelligence-based factories
Mentioning that the artificial intelligence algorithm provides robots with a structure that can communicate with and collaborate with humans, Tolga Bizel shared how they created this structure with MAISART technology with the following words; “Departing from our approach where humans and robots will work in cooperation, we offer a holistic system in which both robots and the working environment are supported by artificial intelligence. With 100 years of experience, we use our proprietary AI brand MAISART technology to enable companies to derive maximum benefit from artificial intelligence. Our robots, which we support with MAISART technology, which is the abbreviation of 'Mitsubishi Electric's AI creates the State-of-the-ART in technology' can make comments to the engineer. With this technology, it is possible to save up to 80 percent in setup times and increase recognition rates by up to 30 percent. Using a machine learning algorithm, this technology also creates a model of production machine transition between different operational states after analyzing the sensor data. Since the data is analyzed instantly, it is possible for the robots to switch to a new working system when necessary.”
