As part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, the fourth Rocket Competition held this year under the direction of ROKETSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE, the youth, who are responsible for every stage from design to production, from integration to preparation for firing, fired their rockets in Salt Lake for the championship. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank watched the fierce struggle of the teams that made it to the finals. Minister Varank invited all of Turkey to TEKNOFEST 21, which will be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between September 26-2021.
Minister Varank was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) Chairman of the Board of Trustees and TEKNOFEST Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar and TÜBİTAK SAGE Director Gürcan Okumuş.
VISITED THE STANDS
Minister Varank watched the rockets fired at the TEKNOFEST 2021 Rocket Races, which started in the Aksaray region of Salt Lake under the direction of ROKETSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE. He visited the stands in the shooting area and received information about rockets. In his speech here, Varank expressed the need to invest in people and said, “I hope our young people here will put forward much more successful works. They will follow in the footsteps of Selçuk Bayraktar brothers.” he said.
GÖKDOĞAN AIR-AIR MISSILE TEST IN OCTOBER
Minister Varank said, “Our President shared the first test of our Bozdoğan air-air missile. Under normal circumstances, the first time you launch missiles from an aircraft, it is not expected to hit a target, but it succeeded in its first test. Hopefully, Gökdoğan, our 65-kilometer-range air-to-air missile, which we call beyond sight, will not be tested beyond October. In October, this will be tested with our F-16s. Thus, we will become one of the rare countries in the world that can develop air-to-air missiles in this class as well.” said.
Expressing that they see September as the “technology month” for Turkey with TEKNOFEST, Varank said, “September will be the month when we will feed technology in Turkey. TEKNOFEST competitions continue at full speed, but our big festival, TEKNOFEST 2021, where we will exhibit our domestic and national products, and our aviation shows, will be at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between September 21-26. We are waiting for our children, young people and families, all of Turkey to Istanbul, to TEKNOFEST 2021.” he said.

Calling the young people to participate in TEKNOFEST, Varank said, “Our competitions will continue next year by adding more than 35 categories. Please primary school, secondary school, high school university, even our graduates; set up your teams, prepare for competitions, let's race together here. We have awards, let's win those awards together." he said.
