Salarha Tunnel was opened with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Speaking at the opening, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu reminded that they opened the Iyidere-Ikizdere road and the Ikizdere Tunnels and Connection Roads yesterday.

Stating that they are happy to put the Salarha Tunnel, which is another important project for Rize, into service today, Karaismailoğlu said, "Salarha Tunnel is a very meaningful project that makes the transportation of our citizens in the region safer in difficult natural conditions and shortens their travel times."

Noting that thanks to President Erdogan's vision and love for his nation, transportation and infrastructure investments have been realized, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“Iyidere Logistics Port, which will be the new address of large-tonnage ships with an annual 3 million tons of general cargo, 8 million tons of bulk cargo, 100 thousand TEU containers and 100 thousand vehicles ro-ro capacity, will also go down in history as a strategic investment realized in Rize and to the region. It will provide 8 thousand new employment opportunities. In case the port works at full capacity, it will contribute to Rize's economy by approximately 400 million TL annually.”

ANNUAL TOTAL 66 MILLION TL WILL BE SAVED

Karaismailoğlu said, "The Salarha Tunnel has been a seal struck in the transportation area to Rize," adding that the 2-meter-long Salarha Tunnel, which connects the city center and the Salarha Valley, has a length of 958 km with connection roads and 3 bridges. noticed that it has arrived.
