Dr. Fevzi Özgönül, 'Do not neglect your health these days when we are in autumn. Prepare your body, which is tired in the active days of summer, for autumn. Do not lose your health and summer energy. Take your suggestions against autumn.'He said.

Dr.Fevzi Özgönül listed the secrets of healthy life in 10 steps as follows;

- In order to adapt quickly to the intense running, we need to start waking up early, just like the athlete who does warm-up laps before the match. Starting the day early not only makes our daily work easier and quicker to finish, but also helps us feel more vigorous during the day.

-These seasons are the days when summer clothes are gradually removed and winter or seasonal clothes appear.

- In these days when the extremely hot weather decreases and there are rainy days in between, taking family walks in the evening will prepare us for the intense winter months. Moreover, these days are a unique opportunity for students. These afternoon walks are important for both the circulatory system and our heart. These walks, which also help the digestive system to work more efficiently, will make us healthier in winter.

- Vegetables such as citrus fruits, carrots, broccoli, zucchini, Brussels sprouts, green peppers, cauliflower, tangerines, parsley, arugula, cress, which strengthen our immune system, are foods rich in vitamins. In these months when winter months and diseases are approaching, nutrition becomes just as important.

-Another condition of a balanced diet in these months when the effect of cold weather begins is adequate protein intake. Proteins should not be missing from daily nutrition due to their strong effects on tissue construction and repair. In these periods when infectious diseases are experienced intensely, adequate consumption of protein sources is very important. In particular, foods such as milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, meat, chicken and fish are the best sources of protein.” Considering that the ban on hunting has been lifted, it is also possible for us to shift our protein intake to seafood with the falling fish prices.

-The oils we use in meals are also important in the prevention of infectious diseases. Sunflower, corn oil, vegetable oils, omega-6 fatty acids, seafood, omega-3 fatty acids, olive and hazelnut oil are rich in omega-9 fatty acids. These fatty acids we have mentioned have healing and strengthening effects on the immune system.

-Of course, we need to have a healthy and strong digestive system while applying all these suggestions. In order for our digestive system to get rid of laziness, we must first stay away from foods such as ice cream and milk dessert that we consume in summer, especially in these months when seasonal changes are experienced.

-In order to strengthen the digestive system and to digest the proteins, fats and vitamin mineral sources we eat, we need to remove the snacks we make at intervals in summer and say goodbye to snacks. If we want to have a healthier body, as in Ramadan, we must stay away from snacks. In many studies, it has been concluded that a 12-hour fast, especially in the evening, both strengthens the digestive system and prolongs life.

-Water consumption is at least as important as eating healthy. If we have the habit of consuming carbonated drinks instead of water in summer, we need to get rid of it a moment ago. Getting rid of the carbonated drink habit is important for preventing the extra pounds we gain in winter. Of course, it is not just carbonated drinks. Drinks such as tea and coffee that we consume too much do not affect our health in a good way. For this reason, it would be good to continue the habit of drinking water in these days when the weather is not completely cold and we are still thirsty.

-One of the most important conditions of being healthy is a good sleep. Therefore, if we wake up early in the morning, we also need to sleep early and get enough rest. Everyone needs about 7-8 hours of sleep. Going to bed early and getting enough rest will give us a lot and allow us to start the winter healthier.
