Record Excitement Before 9 September International İzmir Half Marathon

Athletics authorities are expecting a record before the International September 5 Izmir Half Marathon, which will be run on Sunday, September 9th. It is expected to run very well in the marathon, thanks to the advantage of being flat on the track between Cumhuriyet Square-Inciraltı-Cumhuriyet Square.

After the Marathon İzmir, which was held in April and where Ethiopian Tsegaye Getachew achieved the best time ever run in our country with 2.09.35, athletics authorities are waiting for a record in the International September 9 İzmir Half Marathon, which will be run on a flat track again. The race, which will be run on an inclined track between Cumhuriyet Square – İnciraltı – Cumhuriyet Square on Sunday, September 5, will start at 07.00. The Half Marathon, which was limited to the participation of two thousand people due to the pandemic conditions, will be the scene of a very exciting and contentious struggle due to the record expectation.

Pandemic rules apply

Due to the fact that the pandemic has not lost its effect, great attention will be paid to distance and hygiene rules in the Half Marathon. Entrances to the event area will be made from a single point and with fever measurement, and a social distance of 1,5 meters will be left between each athlete. While the start will be given in groups of four, there will be a gap of at least two meters between each group. Athletes will be able to get their chest numbers, chips and running t-shirts from the event area to be set up in Cumhuriyet Square between 3:4 and 2021:09.00 on September 20.00 and XNUMX, XNUMX. Chest numbers and running t-shirts will not be distributed on the day of the competition.

At the end of the race, general classification men and women, general classification Turkish male and female athletes, as well as 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60-64 age groups will be awarded prizes.

İzmir Metropolitan Belediyespor athlete Ufuk Arda, who achieved the best rank among Turkish athletes in Marathon İzmir with 2.25.39, will also take his place in the International September 9 İzmir Half Marathon. Lastly, the experienced athlete, who came first in his classification with 30 at the Duatepe Half Marathon, held in Ankara-Polatlı in honor of the August 1.29 Victory Day last week, will seek a place for himself on the first step of the podium on Sunday.
