TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions, which inspire our youth, illuminate our future and add value to our country, continue without slowing down. The flight stages of the Model Satellite Competition, which offers students the opportunity to experience the process from the design of the satellite and space project to the commissioning, started in Aksaray Salt Lake.
The Model Satellite Competition, organized as part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, under the direction of TÜRKSAT, aims to provide undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to transform theoretical knowledge into practice and acquire interdisciplinary working skills. A model satellite designed by the students within the scope of the competition; It represents the payload that descends in the planet's atmosphere, collects data from its sensors, transfers the collected data to an interface environment, records images and can exchange instant data. In the competition, which includes all aspects of a space/satellite project in which telemetry and communication requirements are met, the teams fly model satellites, which consist of two parts, the carrier and the payload.
In the Model Satellite Competition, which aims to train human resources in the field of space technologies that will shape the future of our world; Among the 118 teams that applied to the competition, 20 teams that were entitled to participate in the competition are fighting for the championship. The Model Satellite Competition, which is held for the sixth time this year, is held within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions, which has attracted great interest from students since 2018. The competition, which contributes to the national production of space technologies and where the participants learn all the processes of the satellite, will continue until September 19. After a long preparation process, the teams that complete the seven-stage competition with a degree will receive the first prize of 40 thousand TL, the second prize of 30 thousand TL, and the third prize of 20 thousand TL. The winning teams will receive their awards at TEKNOFEST, which will be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between September 21-26. Young people who have ideas, projects and produce in line with the goals of the National Technology Move will come together again this year at TEKNOFEST, the center of enthusiasm and excitement.
