Izmir Metropolitan Municipality established the Parent Academy for children to grow up in a healthy family environment within the scope of the “child-friendly municipality” approach. The Academy's Pregnancy School program will begin on September 24. With the face-to-face and online trainings, it is aimed to reach the information that parents are curious about from the pregnancy period to the age of 3 years.
The Family and Child Services Branch, affiliated to the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Projects Department, established the Parent Academy with the understanding of “Child Friendly Municipality”. The Pregnancy School, which aims to provide parents with the information they are curious about in the period from the pregnancy period to the age of 3, will start on September 24. With this project, the Metropolitan aims to support children to grow up in a healthy family environment in cooperation with parents.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality also carries out the "Baby0" education project, which includes home visits to families with children aged 3-95, within the scope of the Parent Academy. Within the scope of the project, "home visits and family guidance" training was given to 21 professionals in total. Continuing to deliver a "welcome baby" kit, including six books, to families who have just had a baby, to increase the developmental characteristics of children, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is starting to organize "Mastering Parenting in Three Steps" trainings for parents with children aged 6-12 under the academy.
Pregnancy School:
The Pregnancy School trainings, implemented with the slogan "Hand in Hand with Parents from Izmir for a Beautiful and Hopeful Future", will be given by Özlem Ecemiş, who carries out studies at Izmir University of Economics Medicalpark Izmir Hospital Pregnancy School. Training will be conducted in two ways, face-to-face and online. There is a quota limit of 50 mother and father candidates in face-to-face training and 100 mother and father candidates in online trainings. Three hours of training apps each.
Within the scope of the program, Preparation for Birth, Miraculous Journey, Breath-Physical Activities, Pilates and Yoga (Exercise), Importance of Music in Pregnancy, Alternative Methods in Birth Waves, Natural Birth, Birth Signals, Birth Fears, Sensual Contact, Kangaroo Care, Breastfeeding and Breast Milk, Baby Care, Postpartum Care, Emergencies and Approach trainings will be given.
