Denmark-based Gram Equipment company, which is the strongest player in the global market in the production of ice cream mass production machines, opened its new facility in the Aegean Free Zone. Gram Equipment, which is the leader in its sector with its 34 percent share in the global market, aims to grow by 1 percent at the end of the year with the new facility it has put into service with an investment of 45 million dollars. With the new facility, the number of employees of the company increased to 110 people.

The opening ceremony held at the company's new production facility in the Aegean Free Zone was attended by Danish Ambassador to Ankara Danny Annan, Aegean Free Zone Manager Mevlüde Şenay Satoğlu, Industry and Technology İzmir Provincial Manager Engin Bişar, ESBAŞ Executive Board Chairman Faruk Güler, Gram Equipment Executive Board Chairman Tom Wrensted, Gram Equipment Turkey General Manager Özgür Seyhan and many guests and company employees attended.

Speaking at the ceremony, Gram Equipment Executive Board Chairman Tom Wrensted said he was happy to open such a facility during the pandemic period. Emphasizing that the company showed the greatest performance in its history by getting stronger in 2020, Wrensted stated that they will break a new record in 2021 despite the Corona pandemic, and said, “We have made a great breakthrough in the last 2 years and we are on our way successfully. We have created our 2023 strategy. Accordingly, we have an ambitious growth target. Gram Turkey will also need to grow in terms of capacity in the coming years.

Özgür Seyhan, General Manager of Gram Equipment Turkey, also stated that their companies, which hold a 34 percent share of the world market in the production of ice cream machines, will increase their capacity and increase their growth figures to higher levels in the coming years. Seyhan said, “We expect a growth of 2021 percent at the end of 45. With our company's technology, innovation, qualified employment and high value-added domestic product production, we plan to be the pioneer of the machinery manufacturing industry, which has a share of only 2020% in the sector as of 4.”

Emphasizing that Gram Equipment Turkey is currently able to manufacture more than 20 different types of machines specially designed for the customer, Seyhan said: “We design, manufacture, test and commission all medium speed machines with our local teams. We mostly procure stainless parts, which are the main inputs of ice cream machines, from local suppliers. Since our establishment, we have produced more than 49 individual machines, 400 full lines and 42 partial lines for 31 countries.”

Danish Ambassador to Ankara Danny Annan, on the other hand, stated that the new facility will bring Denmark and Turkey even closer, emphasizing that they want to increase the stable bilateral trade between the two countries at the level of 2 billion dollars and said, “We experienced a tremendous growth in the first 5 months of this year and reached 12,6%. there was an increase. A 25 percent increase was achieved in Turkey's exports to Denmark. We've never seen anything like this before. This is just the beginning. "There will be very good opportunities between the two countries in the coming months and years," he said.

ESBAS Executive Board Chairman Dr. Faruk Güler reminded that Gram Equipment has been operating in ESBAŞ since 2015 and informed that the facility, which was opened, covers a total area of ​​6 square meters. Dr. Faruk Guler said: “As a 844-year-old machinery manufacturing company, Gram Equipment carries out successful works in the world. It is also enviable to aim for 120 percent growth this year and to spread this success around the world. It made us proud to bring such a company to Turkey, to Izmir and to employ 45 people.” Adding that not only employment but also the commercial dimension of the business is important, Dr. Güler emphasized that the exports also bring foreign currency to Turkey. Aegean Free Zone Manager Mevlüde Şenay Satoğlu also stated that Gram Equipment company makes very important productions and expressed her satisfaction with the company's new investment.
