Fire Week Begins on September 27

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department will celebrate Fire Brigade Week with various activities between 27 September and 3 October. The event program, which also includes a cooperation protocol to be signed with 12 non-governmental organizations to create a disaster-resilient city, and the "International Fire and Earthquake Symposium", aims to raise awareness of the society against fire and natural disasters with activities.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department will celebrate the Fire Brigade Week with the activities it will organize between 27 September and 3 October. Firefighters, who will participate in fire extinguishing and search and rescue exercises, will prepare the public against fire and natural disasters with training activities. As part of the Fire Brigade Week activities, a fire extinguishing and rescue drill will be held on Monday, September 27, at the Telekom building located in Torbalı Tepeköy Neighborhood Atatürk Square and Cumhuriyet Square.
On Tuesday, September 28, at 09.30:XNUMX, a wreath will be laid at the Atatürk Monument in Cumhuriyet Square. After the speeches on the meaning of the day, the celebrations, exercises and trainings will continue in different districts of the city.

Disaster education for the disabled

Firefighters will conduct fire fighting and rescue drills at Yılay Hakan Ceken High School in Urla on September 28 at 11.30, and a search, rescue and evacuation drill for the disabled at 14.00 in Old Foça Square. Disaster training for the disabled will be given at 15.00:29 at the Old Foça Atatürk Cultural Center. On Wednesday, September 30, an exercise will be held at the Toros Fire and Natural Disaster Training Center following the “Disaster Ready İzmir” protocol with non-governmental organizations. On Thursday, September 09.30 at XNUMX:XNUMX Bayraklı “Fire and Earthquake Symposium” with international participation will start at Tepekule Congress Center. The day will continue with fire extinguishing and rescue drills at Basmane Train Station. Firefighters will meet with the residents of the nursing home on Friday, October 1 at the Buca Social Life Campus. On the same day, at 12.00:2, a fire and search and rescue drill will be held in the İZSU General Directorate building. Fire Brigade Week will end on October 3 and XNUMX with a visit to the graves of firefighter martyrs.
