Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry initiated the 2019% grant-supported “Fethiye and Seydikemer Small Industrial Site Feasibility Study” project within the scope of the South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) 100 Feasibility Support Program, upon requests and complaints that the small industrial estates in Fethiye and Seydikemer do not meet the needs. . Within the scope of the project, it will be built with infrastructure and superstructure facilities planned on lands selected in accordance with city development plans, where industrial enterprises operating in different business lines in the maintenance / repair and production areas in the Fethiye industrial zone will be able to perform the functions they need, be productive in healthy environmental conditions. The feasibility study of the small industrial site was carried out.

Chairman Çıralı, “The current industry does not meet the needs”

Reminding that the project was entitled to receive a grant from GEKA in February 2020, FTSO Chairman Osman Çıralı stated that the industry in the center of Fethiye is located on an area of 261.886,345 m2 and said:

“During our visits to our member enterprises in the industry, we were informed that the current field of the industry does not have the opportunity to provide the capacity that the companies need. Firms do not have enough space to put their production benches; They stated that they do not have enough warehouse areas to stock up after production.

In addition, we observed that the traffic and parking problem reached its peak, especially during the loading/unloading of goods. As a result, especially manufacturing companies need larger areas according to their production capacities. Existing industrial zones in both Fethiye and Seydikemer cannot meet this demand. As a result, companies with increased capacities are moving to large parcels of land on the ring road. In addition, existing industrial zones do not comply with municipal, earthquake and occupational health and safety regulations. It is foreseen that a new industrial site to be established will become a center of attraction for industrialists in both Fethiye and Seydikemer regions; We realized the feasibility project in which Fethiye Chamber of Craftsmen and Chamber of Craftsmen and Seydikemer Chamber of Craftsmen and Fethiye Municipality are partners. With the project, besides the end of its capacity, attention was drawn to the traffic jam, parking problem and waste problems in the central industry of Fethiye. At the end of the feasibility study, it was revealed that cheap infrastructure could be provided to industrial enterprises by supporting superstructure and infrastructure constructions with government loans.

In addition, with the small industrial site whose feasibility study has been completed, with the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools, which have an average of 3500 graduates every year with the number of students approaching 700, awareness will be created to contribute to the dissemination/development of vocational education and solving the employment problem. In a possible small industrial site (CSR) investment, structures such as research and development centers for R&D and innovation studies, first aid centers and infirmary that are not in the current industry but should be found in industrial zones of this size were also evaluated.” said.

Emphasizing that they will send the feasibility report prepared within the scope of the project to all stakeholders as Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman Çıralı said, “The Fethiye and Seydikemer Small Industrial Site Feasibility Study project report, which we have realized with the support of GEKA, will shed light on the planning and activities to be carried out before the public.

As FTSO, we have prepared the investment feasibility for the transportation of the industrial site; We put forward the cost of a possible CSR investment, the advantages and disadvantages of moving or not, and the point of view of businesses and the public on this issue by applying surveys. The next step is to determine the place where the industrial zones will be moved, to lobby on this issue, and to attract the attention of public institutions and organizations that have authority in this business.” he said.

Expectations were received by surveying 485 businesses.

Within the framework of Fethiye and Seydikemer Small Industrial Site Feasibility Study project, consultancy support was received and businesses located in existing industrial sites in Fethiye and Seydikemer were determined.

A total of 485 businesses and 300 citizens were surveyed. Businesses were divided according to their fields of activity; analyzed in terms of sectoral capacities and growth trends, regional development and competitiveness.

Stakeholder analysis and search conference were carried out and the expectations of the stakeholders were received, and the views of the relevant ministries, public institutions and organizations were also benefited from. Successful industrial sites in Turkey, especially in Muğla and nearby regions (Bodrum, Marmaris), were analyzed and a comparison study was carried out.

In the light of these analyzes, the suitability of the possible places that can be operated for the Environmental Plans and proposed by the stakeholders for the CSR investment has been investigated. feasibility study report revealed.
