Big Cup Asterisk in Bosphorus Cup

With the motto "The Race of the Bosphorus is 20 Years Old", the team that won the grand trophy in the Bosphorus Cup sailing races that took place on September 23-26, 2021 this year, became "Asterisk" under the leadership of Hasip Gençer.

The excitement of the last day of the Bosphorus Cup 2021, one of Turkey's most important sports events in the international arena, is over. In the organization that started on September 23, after the Caddebostan stage that took place on the third day, the championship was won by the sailboat Asterisk, captained by Hasip Gençer.

This year's race, which was organized with the slogan "The Race of the Bosphorus is 51 Years", in which 500 boats from ten different countries participated with nearly 20 sailors, witnessed fierce competition on the Caddebostan stage on Sunday, September 25, after the Bosphorus Race stage, which took place in a magnificent atmosphere on Saturday, September 26th. In Caddebostan, the sailboats put up a breathtaking struggle with winds of up to 10 knots.

After the last day's races were completed, the winner of the big trophy was also announced in the four-day organization. Asterisk team received the Bosphorus Cup Trophy Cup to take home in Kalamış Marina.

Giving information about the Bosphorus Cup, which is celebrating its 20th birthday, Bosphorus Cup Founder Orhan Gorbon states that they are happy to have successfully carried out such a powerful organization for years. Gorbon continued his words as follows: “The Bosphorus Cup is one of the most important sailing races in the world and the Bosphorus Race stage makes it unique. We are a race that is on the calendar and followed by sailing lovers from all over the world. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed and supported the realization of such an event at an international level for 20 years.”
