In cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Health, the “Guide to Practices to be Done in the Case of Covid-19 Positive Cases in Schools” was prepared. In this context, if any of the students in a class is diagnosed with Covid-19 positive, the students will be monitored and they will continue to school. In the same situation, teachers will also be monitored and they will continue to teach. When a case occurs for the second time in 10 days in the same class, all of the class students will be considered as close contacts. These students will be sent home and will be contacted for 2 days.

The new academic year starts tomorrow. The Ministry of National Education, which has mobilized all its possibilities so that face-to-face education will not be interrupted once again, has added a new one to its measures against the Covid-19 epidemic.

Prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Health, the “Guide to Practices to be Done in Case of Covid-19 Positive Cases in Schools” will be implemented in all schools across Turkey.

According to the guide, if any of the students in a class is diagnosed with Covid-19 positive, the students will be monitored and will continue to school. In the same situation, teachers will also be monitored and they will continue to teach.

Teachers and other students of the class with a positive case will be questioned at least twice a day for 14 days at the school entrance, and fever measurements will be carried out and these will be recorded. The break time of the children in this class will be differentiated from other classes.

The person with symptoms or high fever will be directed to the health institution. According to the evaluation of the health institution, a student or teacher who does not show any symptoms will continue to school, otherwise it will be considered a case.

If the student has a positive case, all of the class students will be considered as close contacts, since the case is found for the second time in 10 days in the same class. These students will be sent home and will be contacted for 2 days.

If the teacher has a positive case, if the teacher does not have a risky contact outside of school, all students in the classroom with the first positive case will be considered close contacts. These students will be sent home and will be contacted for 14 days.

In addition, in this case, all teachers at the school will be considered contact and will continue to school on the condition of wearing a mask. Temperature measurements will be carried out by the contact teachers by the school at least 14 times a day, with an interval of at least 2 hours, for XNUMX days, and these will be recorded.

The teacher who has symptoms or high fever will be directed to the health institution; will continue to school or be considered a case, according to the assessment of the health institution.

If the teacher has a risky contact outside of school, other teachers and students in the classroom with the first case will be considered as contact, and the school will conduct a symptom inquiry twice a day at least 14 hours apart for 2 days, and temperature measurements will be carried out and these will be recorded. People with symptoms or high fever will be directed to the health institution. According to the evaluation of the health institution, people will continue to school or will be considered as a case.

If a positive case of Covid-19 is detected in the teacher teaching in the classroom, the following applications will be made:

Students will be considered contact and will continue to school on the condition of wearing masks in accordance with the rules. Other teachers will be considered contact and will continue to work with masks.

The temperature measurements of the contact teachers and the students in the class where the positive teacher attends the class will be carried out by the school, at least 14 hours apart, twice a day for 2 days, and these will be recorded. Those who show symptoms or high fever will be directed to the health institution. According to the evaluation of the health institution, these people will continue to school or be considered a case.

In case of a positive case of Covid-19 in one of the students in the services, the students will be considered as contact and will continue to school on the condition of wearing masks in accordance with the rules. In this case, the shuttle driver and guide staff will be considered contacted and will continue to work provided that they wear masks in accordance with the rule.

“contacts” and “closed contacts”

According to the prepared guide, the following details were also included on what to do in two separate situations: "considered contact" and "considered close contact":

Contacts considered: The teachers and the students in the classroom where the teacher attends the class will be questioned twice a day by the school for at least 14 lesson hours for 2 days, and fever measurements will be carried out and these will be recorded. Those who show symptoms or have high fever will be directed to the health institution. According to the evaluation of the health institution, these people will continue to school or be considered a case.

Those considered close contacts: If more than one case occurs simultaneously (within 10 days) in the same class, all students in the class will be considered close contacts. These students will be sent home and will be contacted for 14 days.

What to do in case of positive cases in pre-school and kindergartens

In case of a Covid-19 case in one of the teachers or students at the school, in addition to the cleaning carried out during the Covid-19 period, cleaning will be carried out according to the information under the heading "Precautions to be taken in schools within the scope of Covid-19" of the Epidemic Management and Study Guide.

The teacher and student with Covid-19 will be isolated and treated according to the Covid-19 Outbreak Management and Study Guide. When a positive case is detected in the family of the teacher or student, the teacher or student in the family where the case was detected will be considered close contact.

In case of a positive case before school, the whole class will be considered close contact. All students in this class will be considered as close contacts and will be sent home and will be followed up for 14 days.

In kindergartens, if a teacher or one of the students comes to school with a positive condition, all students in this class will be considered as close contacts and will be sent home and will be followed up in contact for 14 days.
