Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has completed the works to strengthen the infrastructure of the region in order to avoid similar problems on Altınyol Street, which was closed to traffic after being flooded on February 2nd. With an investment of 3,4 million liras, an infrastructure system was created that will transport the rain water from the street to the sea.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has completed its work in the region to eliminate the infrastructure problems that caused Altınyol Street to be flooded during heavy rains and closed to traffic. Within the scope of the works that started on June 1, a new 140 meters long rain water line was laid to collect the surface rain water accumulated on the street. During these works, 550 meters of bilateral excavation was carried out on Altınyol Street. A system that will deliver rain water to the sea was created with a 45-meter horizontal drill passage in the İZBAN Turan Station region. Pools were built to collect rainwater. The rain water accumulated in these pools will pass under the railway with the horizontal drilling method, and then reach the sea through an open channel. In this context, 329 meters of closed and open section ducts were manufactured. The works were completed with an investment of 3 million 434 thousand liras.
