DESIGNED AS A LIVING MUSEUM

Speaking at the opening of the Girls Monastery, which was highly appreciated by the guests, Metropolitan Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu said, “Trabzon is an enormous city with thousands of years of history and has been the capital of dozens of civilizations. It is also a city with mysterious temples, in which I believe many secrets are kept. We are witnessing the opening of such a place following its restoration. The main rock church welcomes us in the courtyard. Every door opens to another world. It is one of the most beautiful places in Trabzon, which has taken shelter in the foothills of Boztepe mountain. It has been restored to its original form. There are images of the past with augmented reality. It was designed as a living museum. It will take an important place in Trabzon's cultural and artistic life throughout the year. I would like to thank our Minister of Culture, our Culture Directorate and everyone who contributed, especially our President.

FREE VISIT UNTIL 15 OCTOBER

President Zorluoğlu also announced that the Girls Monastery can be visited free of charge until October 15, after which a minimum fee will be determined at the entrance.

CORA: NEW CULTURAL ART CENTER

AK Party Trabzon Deputy Salih Cora said, “Many openings were held. This is one of the most significant of them. Many artifacts have been unearthed in this city, which has hosted ancient civilizations. While this outstanding work remained idle in our city, it has become a situation where it can be used in the most appropriate way with the investments. The most important feature of the Girls Monastery is not only an open air museum, but also a new culture and art center of the city.

GÜNNAR: CITY OF CIVILIZATIONS TRABZON

Stating that he is proud to be a citizen of Trabzon, AK Party Trabzon Deputy Adnan Günnar said, “This is a city of civilizations in Anatolia. So are the people. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has produced works, for bringing such beautiful works to Turkey. Trabzon is a fascinating city both in the Ottoman and Republican periods. The lack of evaluation of such works can be explained by economic reasons. We have entered an era in which it is regained," he said.

AX: OUR HISTORICAL RICHNESS IS TOO MUCH

AK Party Trabzon Deputy Muhammet Balta said, “When describing our Trabzon, we always say it is a city of culture, history, sports and tourism. When it comes to history, there are some that come to the fore as well as those that do not. We see a lot of historical richness. They are one of the biggest investments. We have historical beauty. These diversify tourism. Girls Monastery will also bring people from all over the world to come to our city.”
