The “Female Heroes in the First World War and the War of Independence”, which consists of works in the Hisart Live History Museum collection, was opened at the Istanbul Cinema Museum Exhibition Hall.

The exhibition, which was attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, presents the difficulties and responsibilities of Turkish women during the struggle of an occupied country and a people trying to be destroyed, despite all the poverty, under heavy conditions during the World War I and the War of Independence. It's about the heroism he showed.

Minister Ersoy, in his speech at the opening, stated that the exhibition was created with a very special theme in terms of content and said, “1. The Turkish people struggled with their whole existence against the great occupation movement that started with the World War II and continued with the War of Independence and succeeded in establishing the Republic of Turkey on its current foundations. In this war, we have the chance to see the difficulties our women have experienced, the responsibilities they have taken, and the heroism they have shown.” said.

Drawing attention to the realistic animations in the exhibition, Ersoy said, “We have the chance to see the personal belongings of Nurse Safiye Hüseyin Elbi, our child heroes or the figure of Fatma Seher (Black Fatma), who was the first to graduate in the seminars of the Red Crescent, especially the Red Crescent Society today. That's why I would like to thank everyone who contributed." he said.

Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız also stated that there is a meaningful exhibition about the liberation struggle and the role of women, and said, “While Turkish women have been renovating their homes throughout history, on the other hand, we are talking about the Turkish woman who sacrificed her life when her country was in danger, and when the time came, she sacrificed her own life. Therefore, the role played by Turkish women in the National Struggle is too big to fit into this exhibition. I wish God's mercy to all our women martyrs." used the phrases.

Nejat Çuhadaroğlu, the founder of Hisart Living History Museum, stated that they brought together the visitors with their 30 years of model experience, 25 years of diorama talent and 18 years of collector identity in each of their works, and said: In the struggle for life and death, he took part both in the fronts and through the aid societies he founded behind the front, he served in the care of the wounded and the sick, the supply of clothing and food to our soldiers, the transportation of weapons and supplies to the front with oxcarts, and the manufacture of ammunition, working together with his children when it was his turn. The exhibition, which deals with the difficulties, responsibilities and heroism of the Turkish women, one of the most important actors of the National Struggle; It sheds light on history in terms of the meaning and cultural weight it carries through the works it contains.” he said.

Within the scope of the exhibition, documents and photographs of the nursing courses established by the Red Crescent Society, aid badges and postcards, medals and letters belonging to the first Turkish nurse, Safiye Hüseyin Elbi, as well as photographs and documents showing the activities of carrying ammunition and supplies during the war, cartridges. There are photographs of women and children working in the factory, postcards, accessories, badges, medals, Order of Compassion, letters, propaganda posters, newspaper copies of the period, animations, models, dioramas and objects that shed light on the National Struggle period.

The exhibition, which took place at the Istanbul Cinema Museum Exhibition Hall with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will meet with its visitors between 20:11.00 and 19.00:XNUMX, except Mondays, until XNUMX September.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz and Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Coşkun Yılmaz, as well as many art lovers.
