Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made examinations at Kağıthane Metro Station. Noting that they will start the first signaling test drives at this point in November, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that it will be the fastest metro in Turkey.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu examined the works at Kağıthane Station, which was built within the scope of Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport Metro Line Project.

Making a statement after the examinations, Karaismailoğlu said that Istanbul, which is one of the dynamos of trade, tourism, and therefore the economy, and a home for employment and food for millions of citizens, deserves special attention.

Karaismailoğlu said, “As the Ministry, we take the development of our Istanbul in the field of infrastructure and transportation very seriously” and noted that they have implemented the investments by designing them to serve not only for today but also for future generations.

Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport, said, "The problems experienced in public transportation in recent days have shown once again that the transportation issue of Istanbul is not a matter to be left to someone's pleasure. May our nation rest in peace; We cannot tolerate the victimization of either Istanbul or a single citizen,” he said.

WHEN THE PROJECTS ARE COMPLETED IN ISTANBUL, THE LENGTH OF THE RAIL SYSTEM WILL INCREASE TO 354,3 KM

Emphasizing that as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, they continue their work on a 7/24 basis, Karaismailoğlu gave the following information about the rail system:

“In Istanbul, which is our city where we make the most rail system lines at the same time as the Ministry, with 103,3 kilometers currently under construction, the length of the rail system offered by our Ministry to the people of Istanbul, together with the 80 kilometer rail system line in operation, has reached 183,3 kilometers in total. will reach. As of today, the total length of Istanbul's rail system network is 251 kilometers; In addition, the total length of our 7 separate metro lines under construction is 103,3 kilometers. When our projects are completed, Istanbul's rail system length will increase to 354,3 kilometers.”

THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION HAS 7 ONGOING RAIL SYSTEM PROJECTS

Underlining that there are 103,3 rail system projects with a total length of approximately 7 kilometers in the mega city under the responsibility of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu said that these are the Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport Metro line, Küçükçekmece-Halkalı- Başakşehir-Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport Metro line, Pendik-Tavşantepe-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro line, Bakırköy (IDO)-Bahçelievler-Güngören-Bağcılar (Kirazlı) Metro line, Başakşehir-Çam Sakura Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro line, Altunizade-Ferah Mahallesi He noted that there are Çamlıca Rail System and Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Urban Transportation and Recreation Transformation Projects.

MORE THAN HALF OF RAIL SYSTEMS WILL BE CONSTRUCTED BY THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION

Emphasizing that when all the projects are completed, more than half of Istanbul's rail system line will be built by the Ministry of Transport, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:

“I hope this pride will be granted to those of us who have not left the 'politics of service' for a moment. This 37,5 kilometer long metro line, which reaches Göktürk, Kemerburgaz, Kağıthane and Beşiktaş together with Istanbul Airport, which supports our claim to be a global “hub” in air traffic, consists of 9 stations. In our project so far; We completed our tunnel works by opening a 76 thousand 509 meters tunnel. We finished 1 percent of the concrete works by pouring 518 million 322 thousand 97.5 cubic meters of concrete. By assembling 74 thousand 20 kilometers of rails, we reached a rate of 96,6% in these works. We created a closed area of ​​154 thousand 448 square meters at our stations. We carried out the project in which the highest number of tunnel boring machines in Turkey was used with 10 TBMs at the same time.”

WE WILL START THE FIRST SIGNALIZATION TEST DRIVES IN NOVEMBER

Reminding that the first rail welding on the metro line was made in January 2020 with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu announced that they will start the first signaling test drives at this point in November.

AT LEAST 136% OF 60 VEHICLES WILL BE DOMESTIC

Karaismailoğlu, drawing attention to the implementation of the locality requirement in the projects, said, “Another thing that makes us proud is that we apply the locality requirement at the maximum rate in vehicle procurement. Domestic engines will also be used in the project, where 136 vehicles to be used in our metro line will be domestic at least 60 percent. Our Kağıthane Station, whose finishing works continue, is KabataşIt will be integrated into the Mahmutbey Metro Line. Our Gayrettepe Station will also be integrated into the Yenikapı-Taksim-Hacıosman metro. In addition, Arnavutköy, Başakşehir, which are being built by our ministry, Halkalı It will continue until Küçükçekmece Marmaray with the metro line, and our metro line will reach 70 km.”

FASTEST METRO IN TURKEY

Karaismailoğlu stated that the trains to be operated will operate first automatically and then without a driver, adding that a record urban rail system speed of 120 kilometers per hour will be reached.

Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu emphasized that it will be the fastest metro in Turkey and continued as follows:

“Over 38 thousand passengers will be transported per day on the line, which is planned to have a one-way passenger capacity of 400 thousand 600 per hour. I would like to express with pleasure that the overall progress rate of the project is 91,86 percent. When we put all the stations of Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Eyüp-Istanbul Airport Subway into service, we will also provide transportation for Istanbul residents for a comfortable, safe and fast city. All these mean serious gains and savings in terms of business. Namely, with the completion of the metro line, in its operation between 2022-2041; 45 million 133 thousand Euros will be earned in terms of road maintenance and operation, 247 million Euros in terms of reduction of air pollution and contribution to the environment in accordance with our environmentally and health-friendly policies, and 2 billion 312 million Euros in terms of time. The economic return of our metro line in its 20-year operating vision; It will be approximately 2 billion 639 million Euros.”

Karaismailoğlu said, “While others are filling the ongoing subway constructions with soil and laying the foundations, we are working day and night for our nation to have comfortable, safe, comfortable and faster transportation opportunities.
