The cooperation event organized between TCDD Transportation and SOBE (Seljuk Individuals with Autism Education) Foundation aims to increase and develop “Autism Awareness” in our society. Hasan Pezük, General Manager of TCDD Transportation, and Mustafa Ak, Chairman of the Board of Sobe Foundation, participated in the event held at the foundation's headquarters in Konya on September 1. As a result of the cooperation, TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ General Directorate will send messages with visual tools such as high-speed, main line, regional trains and various videos and posters on Marmaray and Başkentray in order to increase autism awareness.

Speaking at the event, Pezük said: “Autism awareness will definitely increase with visual tools such as videos and posters that will be presented to the attention of passengers on our high-speed, main line, regional trains that transport thousands of passengers a day, as well as Marmaray and Başkentray.” used his statements.

In the study to be carried out within the scope of the “Autism Awareness” project, it will be underlined that autism is not a disease and a deficiency, but a difference, and will contribute to the development of awareness in the society.

With the protocol signed at the end of the event, it is aimed to reach a serious part of the society, to integrate individuals with autism into society, and to develop a sense of empathy for the experiences of families in this difficult process, thanks to the highly preferred railway vehicles.

“We Delivered 3,6 Million Disabled Passengers to Their Destinations”

Hasan Pezük, General Manager of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, said that they provided support to social responsibility projects for a healthier society at the signing ceremony held in SOBE.

Pointing out that it is everyone's common responsibility to find solutions to the problems of disabled individuals, whose number has reached 10 million, and their families, Pezuk emphasized that all measures have been taken for the disabled to benefit from railway transportation easily and comfortably.

Pezuk stated that with the “Orange Table” application, which started to serve in 2019, they helped disabled citizens in their travels, and said, “They are not left alone and all kinds of support are provided from the beginning and the end of their travels. We have supported more than 13 thousand disabled citizens with the Orange Table service we provide at 14 YHT Station. In addition, with our YHT, mainline and regional trains, we have transported 2017 million disabled passengers to their destinations since 3,6.” he said.

Stating that there is not enough awareness in the society about autism, Pezük said: “Thanks to the cooperation we will carry out with SOBE, we will contribute to the creation of social awareness about autism. I believe that this cooperation will raise awareness of autism in society. Autism awareness will definitely increase with visual tools such as videos and posters that will be presented to the attention of passengers on our high-speed, mainline, regional trains that transport thousands of passengers per day, as well as Marmaray and Başkentray. If we can ensure that even one of our citizens can gain awareness of autism and empathize in the cities where the railway passes, this will make us all very happy. Let's not forget that autism is not a disease, not a deficiency. All our friends and families, who have had to live with autism for a lifetime, want us to accept this difference and support them.”

Pezük: “Vaccination Card and Negative PCR Test Submission Begins on September 6th”

Stating that he wanted to make an important reminder to the passengers, Pezük said, “In line with the circular of our Ministry of Internal Affairs within the scope of Kovid-19 measures, among our passengers who will travel on intercity trains as of September 6, those who are vaccinated or have the disease and are over 18 years old, can be treated according to the period that is scientifically immune. They will be able to carry out their trips without the necessity of a test. However, our passengers who are not in this situation are required to submit the negative PCR test results taken within the last 48 hours. Our guests who have not had the disease, are not vaccinated and do not present a negative PCR test will not be accepted on the trains and their ticket fees will not be refunded. he said.

Pezuk underlined that being successful in the fight against Kovid-19 is only possible if we are all sensitive and that all necessary precautions are taken, but it is very important for our passengers to comply with them.

SOBE Chairman of the Board Mustafa Ak said that nearly 2016 students received education in the institution, which started its operations in 180.

Stating that studies are carried out in cooperation with Selçuklu Municipality and Necmettin Erbakan University, Ak stated that although the incidence of autism has increased, awareness has not increased at the same rate, and that it is aimed to increase the awareness of autism with the protocol signed with TCDD Tasimacilik.
