Anadolu Isuzu raises the bar in production quality with the Smart Factory project, which it has successfully implemented in line with its digital transformation and Industry 4.0 vision.

Turkey's commercial vehicle manufacturer Anadolu Isuzu has successfully completed the first phase of its Smart Factory project, which it has implemented in line with its digital transformation vision. The smart factory project provides the management of the complex production flow and large production areas due to the variability and diversity created by “Tailor-Made Manufacturing” with the 3D Digital twin, while providing all information about the production of personalized products to the operators with the support of the Internet of Things (IoT). . Every layer of the Smart Factory project, which was designed in accordance with Anadolu Isuzu's production areas and business processes, down to the smallest details, was developed with advanced technology applications from the planning stage to the application. The project goes beyond similar applications in the industry with its high level of visualization and the level of detail reached by the "digital twin" application, which is the exact projection of all production processes in the digital world. Thanks to the established IoT infrastructure, the Smart Factory project enables instantaneous and error-free vehicle and process tracking with the highest precision. Different departments such as logistics, production, quality, sales and export can instantly access all the information they need about production and delivery. The advanced functions of the project also significantly contribute to Anadolu Isuzu's achievement of its “paperless production” target by significantly reducing paper consumption.

Anadolu Isuzu's expert technical staff and internal resources contributed effectively to all stages of the Smart Factory project. The creation of detailed 3D plans, which are among the important components of the Smart Factory project, the integration of vehicle models into the application, the evaluation of intensive field tests for the functions put into use and their immediate reflection to the relevant business partners were provided by internal resources.

One of the aspects that distinguishes the Anadolu Isuzu Smart Factory project from its peers is that it was successfully completed on time, without any delays or disruptions, despite the pandemic conditions. While it is accepted that digitalization projects in the world generally require long meetings held in production facilities and offices, in Anadolu Isuzu's Smart Factory project, the software team has completed all processes, including factory tours and meetings, with a completely online working model from the very beginning, without any physical visits. Anadolu Isuzu's Smart Factory project, which is a completely technological success story, was awarded in the "Best Innovation Project of the Year" category in the innovation category of the global IDC organization.

Anadolu Isuzu General Manager Tuğrul Arıkan said the following about the completion of the Smart Factory project: “As Anadolu Isuzu, we have successfully implemented the Smart Factory project, which we started in line with our digital transformation and Industry 4.0 vision. While our Smart Factory project supports our goal of raising our production quality to even higher levels, it will strengthen our strength in every competitive field in the market. We will strengthen our claim and presence in new markets with this important success, which reinforces our power to develop products that meet customer demands. We will continue to lead our industry with the steps we have taken with the vision of digital transformation and industry 4.0, as we have done so far.”
