The promotional film of the International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, which will be held between 13-19 September this year, has been released. The festival is ready to meet with moviegoers for the 28th time with a rich program.

The theme of the festival this year will be “Nature”. The 28th International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival brings cinema lovers together with the theme of “Nature” this year in order to put an end to the nature massacre that causes fire and flood disasters in our country and to be more sensitive to the environment and nature.

The press conference where information about the screenings and activities of the festival to be held between 13-19 September was held at Adana Metropolitan Municipality Theater Hall.

Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Festival Executive Committee Chairman Menderes Samancılar, Festival Executive Committee Member Nebil Özgentürk, Festival Executive Committee Member İsmail Timuçin, Head of Culture and Social Affairs Department Mahmut Gögübakan, Altın Koza General Manager Hüseyin Orhan attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting where the festival promotional film and competition film credits were shown, President Zeydan Karalar said, “We have made significant contributions to the recognition of this unique inventory of our Adana, which has played a role in the development of the film industry in our country from history to the present, and hosts the films shot in our country with its subject, venue and human resources. We are very happy to be holding the 28th Golden Boll Film Festival this year. We are in an effort to continue our efforts to strengthen Turkish Cinema by taking all necessary precautions in pandemic conditions and to organize without interruption.

WE ARE SORRY DUE TO THE DEATH OF KADİR BEYCİOĞLU

Cinema will erase the differences of opinion and thought among people, and will make the greatest contribution to the realization of the ideals of humanity. He also explained the importance of cinema in the future by saying, 'We must give cinema the importance it deserves'.

WE BRING THE FESTIVAL TO THE PEOPLE'S FEET

President Zeydan Karalar stated that they will bring the festival to the people's feet this year and announced that there will be screenings and some events in most of the districts. President Zeydan Karalar, who stated that the cinema screening in the gondola, which had a great impact and attracted attention last year, will be held this year as well, stated that the festival was prepared with great effort and thanked those who contributed. President Zeydan Karalar left the last word to Menderes Samancılar and Nebil Özgentürk, whom he called the two great masters of art and cinema.

Menderes Samancılar, who took the floor after President Zeydan Karalar, said, “There is sadness on one side of us this year. We are also sorry for our losses due to the pandemic. Despite everything, we want to hold a festival like poetry, keeping our sorrows hidden, and we will do so. The name of our Special Jury Award will be 'Kadir Beycioğlu Special Jury Award'.

Nebil Özgentürk also referred to his years in Adana and said, “May all the documentaries I have prepared be sacrificed for Adana and the Golden Boll Film Festival. We want to organize a festival worthy of Yılmaz Güney and all filmmakers. We lost Kadir Beycioğlu and Ferhan Şensoy by taking the last place. We honor them as well.”
