German automaker Volkswagen has announced that it has stopped using manual transmissions in its cars. VW has announced that the Passat and Tiguan models will now only have automatic transmissions.

According to the news published by Auto, Motor und Sport, the manual transmission option will be completely finished in the German automaker's new Tiguan. It is stated that the reason for the automotive giant to take this decision is to save on production costs.

Volkswagen, which wants to save costs by stopping the development of manual transmissions, will end the production of manual transmissions with the compact SUV model, the 2023rd generation Tiguan, which will be released from 3.

Other Volkswagen models will gradually say goodbye to the manual transmission as part of the model change. It is estimated that from 2030 there will be no Volkswagen model with a manual transmission in major markets in China, the USA and Europe.
