TCDD Çankırı Scissor Factory, which is the most important railway switch factory in Turkey, will be renewed and increase its capacity. The factory, which is 93% domestic and national, serving under TCDD, will be equipped with new technology and will meet the need for railway scissors.

TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun received information from Factory Manager Abdulvahap İnanç about the change from architectural structure to technological structure, and examined new projects.

General Manager Uygun said, “We visited the factory a while ago with our Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu. There were some instructions. We are making radical changes in the factory, which is 93% domestic and national. We aim to export by producing above European standards. Our railway investments and constructions continue rapidly. We need serious scissors for each opened railway line. There are scissors that complete their lifespan. We meet all these from our own factory. Our need will increase in the future. We need to enlarge our factory in order not to be dependent on foreign sources. We will provide great resources to both the economy and employment.” said.

Deputy General Manager Metin Akbaş, Head of Railway Maintenance Department Ersoy Ankara, Head of Real Estate Department İsmail Hakkı Gül and technical personnel attended the examination, chaired by TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun.
