İBB opens Technology Workshops in order to contribute to the training of individuals who will make technology breakthroughs in Istanbul. Students of IMM Technology Workshops, which will start operating in 6 districts in the first place, will be determined by an exam. The exam, which primary and secondary school students can apply for, will be held on September 12. Applications for the exam will be made through the website of the workshops.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is launching Technology Workshops in order to contribute to reducing foreign dependency in science and technology, stopping the brain drain, and training individuals who produce and develop technology. At the workshops established within the IMM Directorate of Youth and Sports, trainings that will form the basis of technology production will be given to children and young people living in Istanbul. The workshops will ensure that talents in this field are discovered and revealed, and children and young people are encouraged to produce technology.

The trainings will be held in cooperation with IMM and Boğaziçi University Educational Technology Application and Research Center. The courses to be given by IMM will be held in Technology Workshops to be opened in Bakırköy, Beyoğlu, Esenyurt, Fatih, Ümraniye and Tuzla.

INDIVIDUALS WHO MAKE INVENTIONS WILL GROW

The Technology Workshops Project will be open to the application of primary, secondary and high school students. It will contribute to the training of individuals who make innovative inventions in technology. Work in the workshops will be carried out within the scope of the contents, curriculum and activities planned by Boğaziçi University academicians. During the workshop period, students will receive training on programming and coding, mobile application development, graphic design, artificial intelligence, robotics applications, project development, computer-free computer science, computer game design and development, graphic design and production.

THE EXAM IS ON SEPTEMBER 12

Students who want to attend IMM Technology Workshops and be included in the trainings there will be determined after a two-stage exam. Theoretical knowledge of the students in the exams; analytical thinking, problem solving and reasoning skills will be assessed. The first exam of the workshops will be held on September 12.

Applications for the exam started online at the website Teknolojiatolyeleri.ibb.istanbul, which includes all information about the workshops. Applications from fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grade students and ninth and tenth grade students are accepted for the exam. Students whose applications are approved will be notified of the exam venue and time via SMS. Students who are successful in the first exam will then take a second exam. Students who are entitled to participate in the workshops will be included in an 8-month study program in groups according to the education calendar and levels created.
