The world leader in efficient vehicle technology solutions, BorgWarner continues to work for global vehicle manufacturers to produce cleaner and more efficient vehicles. Finally, Borgwarner, which has announced its new business partnership with Hyundai Motor Group, will power its A-segment electric vehicle, which the company plans to produce in mid-2023, with an integrated driving module (iDM). The iDM146, which has advanced modular technology incorporating the electromotor, transmission and integrated power electronics, is also important as it is the first integrated module produced by utilizing the expertise of Delphi Technologies, which continues its activities under the umbrella of BorgWarner as of 2020.
Offering innovative products to the global aftermarket, BorgWarner maintains its position as the world leader in environmentally friendly and efficient vehicle technology solutions. BorgWarner, which has stepped into a new cooperation with Hyundai Motor Group, with which it has worked for many years, is preparing to produce the integrated driving module (iDM) that will provide power for the electric vehicle in the A segment, which the company plans to produce in the middle of 2023. The iDM2020, the first integrated module produced by utilizing the expertise of Delphi Technologies, which has been operating under the umbrella of BorgWarner since 146, allows global automobile manufacturers to create cleaner and more efficient vehicles.
It offers silent and smooth transmission technology!
BorgWarner's integrated drive module iDM2023, which will be able to power all A-segment electric vehicles by 146; It stands out as the most advanced technology modular product incorporating electromotor, transmission and integrated power electronics. Designed, developed and manufactured as a high-performance system, the module operates with a 400 V supply and offers 135 kW of power. Having advanced transmission technology that works silently and smoothly, the iDM146 uses the "High Tension Braided Winding" technology that offers unmatched performance. Integrating a 400 V silicon inverter and a compact 146 mm outer diameter motor reduces the weight and footprint of the powertrain. Also iDM146; With its scalable and modular inverter design, it can be easily customized according to customer requirements.
Stating that they have carried their long-standing cooperation with Hyundai to electric vehicles by evaluating the issue, BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems President and General Manager Dr. Stefan Demmer; “We have had a very enjoyable partnership with Hyundai Motor Group for nearly 20 years and we are very excited about the next step. We will work with the group on our first electrical project. “I am particularly excited that our new product is the first iDM product to combine the post-acquisition BorgWarner and legacy Delphi Technologies portfolios and benefit from the collaboration between the two organizations.”
