Minister Karaismailolog, who visited Yeniköy-Kemerköy thermal power plants, made statements on board the ship "Nene Hatun". Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Currently, we have opened a road corridor around the Yeniköy Thermal Power Plant, up to 300 meters, between the forest and the power plant. Thanks to this road corridor, Yeniköy Thermal Power Plant has been secured. There is no danger on the Kemerköy side at the moment, but the fire continues at a distance from the Kemerköy Power Plant, with its intensity reduced.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu visited Yeniköy-Kemerköy thermal power plants. After the visits, Minister Karaismailoğlu, who made a statement on the ship "Nene Hatun", stated that they put out all the fires in Antalya on the 10th day of the fires and said, "We have been witnessing the most important fires in the history of the country for 12 days. We are now giving all our strength to Muğla, Aydın and other regions of our country. Where we are now is Milas Ören. The ship we are on is the Nene Hatun ship. It is a completely domestic and national ship manufactured in Turkey to be used in sea accidents, sea fires and sea rescues.

“Yeniköy Thermal Power Plant is secured”

Karaismailoğlu, who noted that they carried out rescue operations from the sea in Muğla region with rescue boats, ships and rescue boats and helped with the fire extinguishing operations, said, “We are on the alert even though there is no need at the moment. We are waiting for you to respond to the fire with our ships when there is any need. In our region, there are Yeniköy and Kemerköy thermal power plants that produce 2% of our country's energy. They have faced a significant fire hazard in the past few days. Currently, we have opened a road corridor around the Yeniköy Thermal Power Plant, between the forest and the power plant, reaching a height of 300 meters. Thanks to this road corridor, Yeniköy Thermal Power Plant has been secured. A fire that has reduced its intensity continues in a remote part of the thermal power plant, albeit slightly, and our helicopters and planes are intervening here.”

“There is no danger at the moment in Kemerköy Power Plant”

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the Kemerköy Power Plant was in great danger and spoke as follows: “Both our tugboats and rescue boats took on an important task there, too. They also helped with the evacuation process in Ören. There is no danger on the Kemerköy side at the moment, but the fire continues in a far distance from the Kemerköy Power Plant, with its intensity reduced. We have covered significant distances to fight fires from both land, air and sea. Of course, our road crews also play an important role. Under the coordination of our General Directorate of Forestry, they open wide corridors and roads to prevent these fires from reaching both residential areas and thermal power plants, preventing the contact and progression of the fire.”

“We are all together with our citizens and our nation”

Pointing out that not only the highways and the General Directorate of Coastal Security, but also all ministries and institutions are fighting the fire, Minister Karaismailoğlu thanked all his veteran friends who worked hard.

Karaismailoğlu said, “We also support our friends. We are trying to give strength. We provide their morale and motivation. Our follow-up continues. We hope that all these fires are put out as soon as possible. After the fires are extinguished, we will remove the traces of this disaster as soon as possible. Again, we are together with our citizens and our nation in the region," he said.
