İzmir Metropolitan Municipality completed the construction of the drinking water treatment plant established in the Karaçam Pond in Bornova. Thus, 5 neighborhoods fed by well waters got healthy and uninterrupted drinking water.

İZSU General Directorate has completed the construction of the treatment plant that will turn the water of Karaçam Pond into “drinking water” in order to meet the increasing water need of Bornova in the summer months. The water in the pond will be transmitted to the facility through the 1,5 kilometer transmission line built.

Established on an area of ​​5 square meters and costing approximately 600 million liras, the facility with a capacity of 7 thousand cubic meters will meet the increasing water needs of Kayadibi, Karaçam, Beşyol,çiçekköy and Yakaköy neighborhoods in the summer months.
