Drought and global warming message from Soyer
After examining Kemalpaşa Wastewater Treatment Plant and Nif Stream, Soyer attended the meeting where all infrastructure investments of İZSU in the district were explained. Saying that 2 million liras have been invested in Kemalpaşa in the last 120 years, Soyer said, “We are making investments that are bigger than Kemalpaşa has ever seen in its history. We are trying to finalize our projects at an extraordinary speed.” Providing information about the Wastewater Treatment Plant under construction in Ulucak, Soyer emphasized the importance of this plant in terms of combating drought and said, “A quality water treated for the first time will be used in agriculture and garden irrigation. We will be able to use approximately 100 cubic meters of treated water per day for irrigation of fields and gardens. While there are greater threats posed by drought and global warming in front of us; Later, everyone will see how important it is to evaluate the facility we have established in this way. The work done is an extremely valuable work that will set an example for Turkey.”
The waters will be discharged
President Soyer, who examined the construction of Ulucak Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is under construction by İZSU General Directorate, received information about the project from İZSU General Manager Aysel Özkan and toured the construction. The facility, which is under construction in Kemalpaşa Ulucak, will be the 5th wastewater treatment plant of İzmir, which is the first in Turkey in water treatment by treating 69 thousand cubic meters of domestic wastewater per day. The facility will serve 25 thousand people. The water disinfected with the ultraviolet method will be safely discharged. The facility, which was brought to life with an investment of 35 million lira, is expected to be put into service at the end of the year.
Giving the good news that they will go to the tender for the metro project for Kemalpaşa, Soyer said, “6 days later, on August 9, it will be a very important turning point, a milestone for the history of Kemalpaşa. Let me be a little more assertive. We always say, 'Buca Metro is the biggest investment in İzmir's history, a huge investment worth 1 billion 70 million Euros'. The journey, which will start on August 9, will probably exceed the record we set for the Buca metro. A project that excites all of us and that will change Kemalpaşa's 50-100 years to a brand new point. Starting from the bus station, the first stage is Pınarbaşı, and then Pınarbaşı - Kemalpaşa 27,5 kilometer metro line project tender, on 9 August. We are all very excited and proud. Kemalpasa deserved it. With this investment, İzmir will be our district that raises the bar to a completely different place. Metro is not just transportation, it is an investment that carries civilization forward," he said.
Kemalpaşa Mayor Rıdvan Karakayalı, who thanked Mayor Tunç Soyer for the projects carried out in the district, said, “The metropolitan invests so much that there has never been an investment as much as in this period in the history of Kemalpaşa. Kemalpaşa became a privileged place. I am happy and proud for that,” he said.
