İBB will host major events in the year of commemoration of Hacı Bektaş- Veli declared by UNESCO. The meeting of brotherhood, humanity and justice will take place at the "Serçeşme Hünkar Hacı Bektaş Veli Festival". The festival, which could not be held between 30 July and 1 August due to fire and flood disasters throughout the country, will meet with Istanbulites between 27-29 August with the participation of many artists and nearly 60 institutions. IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, made the festival invitation on his social media account as “I invite all souls from all over Anatolia to be one at the Hacı Bektaş Veli Festival”.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM); Hünkar Hacı Bektaş Veli, one of the most important symbols of peace, humanism and equality, will be commemorated with a three-day festival. The messages of Hacı Bektaş Veli, one of the most important intellectual leaders of humanity, "Come, let's be one" and "The end of the road without knowledge is darkness" will be passed from heart to heart and will be passed on to future generations. The festival, in which Alevi-Bektashi associations and federations will participate, will take place between 27-29 August. At the festival; interviews, workshops, children's activities, panels and many more programs will take place.

İMAMOĞLU: “I INVITE ALL LIVES TO BE ONE AT THE FESTIVAL”

IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu; A special video has been released for the festival that will take place in the year of commemoration of Hacı Bektaş Veli, declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Sharing that a big event will be held for the first time in the history of the institution, İmamoğlu used the following statements:

“We will be heart to heart, heart to heart in the first Haci Bektas Veli event held in this context. Together, we will remember Hünkar Hacı Bektaş with enthusiasm, who took service to the people as a service to God and came from human to human. its values; together, we will commemorate his love for people, nature and living things, his tolerance embracing differences and his unconditional belief in peace. Today, society and all humanity need the calls of Hacı Bektaş for unity, solidarity and brotherhood. We also prepared a very special light and video show describing the culture of Hacı Bektaş. I respectfully commemorate Hacı Bektaş Veli on the 750th anniversary of his death. I invite all souls from all over Anatolia to be one at the Hacı Bektaş Veli Festival.”

İMAMOĞLU ANNOUNCED IT HAS BEEN POSTPONED

The festival, which was previously planned to be held between July 30 and August 1, was postponed to a later date due to fire and flood disasters throughout the country. İmamoğlu announced that the event was postponed as follows:

“Our activities, which were planned to start today due to the 750th death anniversary of Hünkar Hacı Bektaşı Veli, whom we know with his endless love and respect for all living things and humanity, have been postponed to a later date due to the ongoing fires and losses in many provinces.”
