Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlumet with IMM personnel and their families, who fought heroically against the fires in the Mediterranean and Aegean, with the picnic organization held in Kemerburgaz City Forest. Kahraman 825 IMM personnel attended the picnic, IMM Secretary General Can Akın Cağlar, Deputy Secretary General Murat Yazıcı, İSKİ General Manager Raif Mermutlu, Fire Brigade Head Remzi Albayrak and officials from other IMM units were present.

Expressing his satisfaction with being together with the heroic staff and their families of İBB with the words “What makes people proud is their family and colleagues”, İmamoğlu said, “I am very happy to be together with your families that make you happy because they are my companions.”

Stating that the personnel who responded to the flood disaster in the Western Black Sea Region will greet them when they return, İmamoğlu said, “You have been in the regions where the disasters took place, and you have provided services to heal the wounds. Happy me. Happy for the people of Istanbul. It was very valuable for you to give the message, 'When needed, we go to every corner of our country and do our duty in the best way' to our colleagues, who, like you, are in the struggle to work for Istanbul. In this sense, I would like to thank all my working friends, everyone who took charge, and each of my fellow travelers. Let them accept that they have shaken their hands one by one," he said.

Expressing that irreparable events occurred in disasters, İmamoğlu continued his speech by wishing God's mercy on those who lost their lives:
“I also wish that these disasters do not cause any loss of life in our country. You proved that; Istanbul is Turkey. Istanbul is really Turkey's locomotive in every subject. It is the engine of solidarity. If you are going to do the economy well in Turkey, something good must happen in Istanbul. Istanbul represents the conscience of Turkey, Istanbul represents its power. You have rushed to help all over our country and you will continue to run. Therefore, at the same time, you became the hands and hearts of those sixteen million people who rushed to help and extended a hand in Istanbul. You have represented us with your courage, your hard work, your self-sacrifice and your love for every living thing, and you have won hearts. In that sense, God bless you all.”
WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO HUMANITY AND LIFE
Stating that he will conduct inspections in the fire areas on Friday, İmamoğlu noted that they will work as 11 metropolitan municipalities to return life to normal quickly. Expressing that solidarity strengthens the society, İmamoğlu concluded his speech as follows:
“I convey my gratitude to their very precious wives and children, who do not leave our heroes alone, send their prayers from here, and make them feel that they have families behind them. Because you send your loved ones to disaster areas and you stay apart for days. I would like to express how proud you are of our colleagues and their families. I want you to know that all Turkish people, our entire nation, share this pride and feelings with you. In this sense, you have experienced a valuable process. I hope there will be no disasters, I hope you will never be needed; but when it did, both our country and our city became aware that they had a reliable team. Again, thank you all for your success in your duties. We are grateful to our people, especially to the unity and solidarity of our nation, for your contributions to humanity and life. May God never give us such troubled days. I wish you all beautiful, pleasant, peaceful, happy and successful days.”
GIVEN A CERTIFICATE OF THANK YOU
A “Certificate of Appreciation” was prepared for 825 personnel of IMM who fought heroically against the fire disaster. İmamoğlu presented 13 personnel with certificates of appreciation on behalf of all the heroes who served in disaster areas. Documents of other personnel will be sent to their homes.
GÜDEN SEATED AT THE COUPLE'S TABLE
İmamoğlu, one of the 825 heroic personnel of İBB, had a picnic by sitting at the table of Ersin Güden, his wife Zeynep Güden and their three children. sohbet he did.
