Ali mountain paragliding competition has ended

Ali Mountain Paragliding Distance Competition, organized for the 12th time this year by Talas Municipality and Air Sports Federation, has ended. The awards were presented to the winners of the competition with the organization.

Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın, Talas District Governor Yaşar Dönmez and Turkish Air Sports Federation Secretary General Mehmet Turhan also attended the ceremony held at Ali Mountain Paragliding Landing Area.

2 TURKISH NAMES RANKED

In the general classification of the competition, Hadi Heidari Dastjerdi from Iran came in first, Soheil Barikani from the same country came in second and Umut Aslan came in third.

The top 3 in the sports classification consisted of Iranian names. Erfan Ottoec took the first place, Fateme Eftekhari took the second place, and Hadi Heidari Dastjerdi took the third place.

In the women's classification, Gülşah Hoş won the first place, Doria Krosnova from Russia took the second place and Fateme Eftekhari from Iran won the third place.

“THE FUNICULAR SYSTEM IN 2023, INSAALLAH, YOU WILL GET OUT”

Speaking at the ceremony for the first time, President Yalçın stated that very beautiful images emerged during the competition and added that they wanted to host the next championship. Giving good news in his speech, President Yalçın mentioned that a funicular system will be built on Ali Mountain and stated that they aim to transport the athletes to the summit on Ali Mountain in 2023 by a funicular system, not by car or minibus, and that they plan to train them for the races in 2023. Congratulating the winners of the tournament, President Yalçın stated that even showing the courage to fly is very important. Stating that 2 people were injured during the competition, President Yalçın said that they also closely monitor their health status.

Talas District Governor Yaşar Dönmez, who came to the podium later on, said: “First of all, I would like to thank Mayor Yalçın for hosting such a beautiful organization and for bringing such a beautiful facility to our district with the good news he just gave. I would like to thank our federation and the participants. You have added color to our district.”

After the speeches, the award ceremony was started and the championship ended with the awarding of the winners.

The races, attended by 80 athletes from Turkey, Russia, Australia and Iran, started on 24 August.
