Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is striking the old Kandıra Turn, one of the most important points of Izmit traffic. With the change to be made to make the traffic flow more fluent and regular, transportation in Kocaeli will be made more comfortable and trouble-free.
TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS CONTINUE
While the Metropolitan Municipality continues its giant transportation projects in Kocaeli, it also continues its efforts to make the traffic in the city more fluent and trouble-free. In this context, work is being initiated to reduce the traffic load at the old Kandıra Turn, which is one of the most important traffic points of Izmit.
REVERSIBLE IN THE AREA REMOVING
There are already roundabouts and traffic lights at the intersection of D-100, Şehit Rafet Karacan Boulevard, Bağdat Street, Democracy Street, Walking Road and Yüce Rıfat Street. Within the scope of the study, the roundabout in the region will be removed by the Metropolitan Municipality. Thus, it is aimed to significantly reduce the traffic load in the region with additional regulations to be made.
NUMBER OF STRIPES WILL BE INCREASED TO 6
According to the new regulation, which will be built within the week; The number of lanes coming from Martyr Rafet Karacan Boulevard will be increased to 6 in the intersection area. 4 of them will be used by those who want to turn in the direction of Yahya Kaptan, and 2 of them will be used by those who want to turn to the D-100. For this purpose, the Izmit direction of the boulevard is towards the north.
TRAFFIC FROM BAGDAT AVENUE ALSO CONSIDERED
Again, the number of lanes on the road coming from Bağdat Street, where the traffic load is concentrated, to the intersection will be increased from 2 to 3. Thus, exits to the D-100 from Bağdat Street will be facilitated.
THERE WILL BE A SOLUTION TO THE DEMOCRACY AVENUE TRAFFIC
Significant changes will also be made at the junction with Democracy Street. By using passive green areas in the region, junction geometry will be improved and traffic capacity will be increased. Vehicles coming from the D-100 will be able to connect to Democracy Street with two lanes. Vehicles coming to the intersection from this route will now be able to wait in four rows at the traffic lights, and the number of lanes in that area will be increased.
NEW POCKETS WILL BE MADE FOR THE D-100
