The most important fair of Turkey's natural stone exports, the 26th Marble İzmir – International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair was opened. Underlining the contributions of the Marble İzmir Fair, which will continue until August 28, to the sector, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu said, “Marble İzmir Fair is the lifeblood of Turkey's natural stone exports.”

Expressing that Marble İzmir Fair is at an important point for Turkey, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu said, “Our total natural stone exports were 77 million dollars in the first year of Marble İzmir. With the contribution of the fair, which was held for the 25th time, Turkey's natural stone exports increased to 2 billion dollars. Moreover, in the last 10 years, natural stone exports have contributed approximately 20 billion dollars to the Turkish economy. In 2021, it has been recorded that we have exported approximately 4.5 million tons to date.”

Expressing that Marble İzmir is a clear center of interaction both for the city and the country, Özuslu said that İZFAŞ is a source of pride. Emphasizing the epidemic measures, Özuslu said, “As İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, we support all our support to the strong institutional capacity that İZFAŞ has put forward with the aim of increasing the export of the sector by listening to all the expectations and demands of the sector representatives and meeting them in an environment where it is said that there is no fair in such a process. we presented. We are aware of the economic, cultural and diplomatic value of Marble İzmir. This value shall not be prejudiced under any circumstances; I would like to sincerely express to you that we are mobilizing with all our strength in order not to harm the size of the fair and the vital water it gives to the urban economy. Emphasizing that marble has been used at important points throughout history, Özuslu said, "I am happy to be with a community that evaluates the value of this ancient stone with a view that does not measure it only with the market."

Expressing that they are happy to be together again, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Buyer said, “After 2 years, we are opening the doors of Marble İzmir. We are all together again here at Fuar İzmir. I greet all the companies, presidents, architects, engineers, employees and laborers of our industry that have contributed more than 26 billion dollars to Turkey's exports in 20 years. Hulusi Doğan, Deputy Governor of İzmir, said, “The production of marble is sweat, its selling, marketing and export is also sweat of the mind. If the two of them are together, they are perfect.”

Fair contribution to the last quarter of the year in export figures

The fair, which has made great contributions to Turkey's natural stone exports, continues to open new trade doors for the sector with its procurement committee and visitor activities. The Aegean Mineral Exporters' Association (EMİB) and the Istanbul Mineral Exporters' Association (İMİB) support the Buyers' Delegation Program, which is organized every year as part of the Marble İzmir Fair, with the countries they bring. United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Italy, Oman, United States and Russia are among the countries brought in the Buyer's Mission Program organized by the associations, respectively. Within the scope of the Buyer Delegation Program organized by İZFAŞ, Germany, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Algeria, France, Palestine, Georgia, Netherlands, Iran, Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, Kosovo, Libya, Lebanon, Egypt, Poland, Romania, Jordan and Greece Participation takes place from. As we enter the last quarter of the year, the export figures of 2021 will be strengthened with the fair and the union of the sector.

Received a secure service certificate

Offering alternative solutions to the changing and developing world conditions, İZFAŞ became one of the first institutions to receive the TSE Covid-19 Safe Service Certificate last March. Turkey's largest specialized fair, which could not be held in 2020, the 26th Marble İzmir opens its doors as the first physical fair organized by İZFAŞ in Fuarizmir during the pandemic period. The fair is organized with the scope of TSE safe service certificate in accordance with the requirements of pandemic conditions. Visitor entrances will be masked for four days, by obtaining the HEPP code and controlled according to the density of the area. The fair is held in line with the rules of the World Health Organization, TR Ministry of Health and TOBB.
